Long review. I recently purchased a mattress set and was told I could make monthly payments. However, what wasnât clearly disclosed was that this financing was actually a credit card account, not just a simple payment plan. I was under the impression that a soft credit pull would be done, but instead, a new credit account was opened, impacting my credit score.
The manager, I believe his name was Robert, was extremely nice and humble when it came to purchasing the mattress set. However, when I talked to him about the credit pulling a couple days later, he said he don't know why that happened and called his manager to see what was up and the manager said the same thing.
I did another follow up to get more clarification, this time talking to someone else. I was met with condescension rather than help (from the most pseudo-intellectual, officious person at this company). Instead of acknowledging the lack of transparency, the representative tried to lecture me about how credit works, when in reality, the issue was their failure to fully explain the terms upfront. What I didnât know is that I was being straight-up finessed into opening a credit card I never asked for! I suggested that they focus more on customer clarity rather than just making sales, but the rude, dismissive attitude made it clear that wasnât a priority. Simply telling people what theyâre actually signing up for instead of worrying about their commission can make things smoother for both parties.
I donât have an issue with financing itself, but customers should be explicitly told when they are signing up for a credit card and not find out after the fact when a new account appears on their credit report. If youâre considering financing through this company and their bank (Synchrony) read all the fine print carefully because they certainly wonât go out of their way to explain it to you.

It had to be adjustable at the head and feet, but also be lower in height than traditional beds. Thanks to Ruben, the store manager who met me at the door first thing this morning, he hooked me up with a good deal for mom, including a fast delivery date. I am not shy about voicing praise or complaints when it comes to customer service, which is dying, but let me tell you - Ruben is professional, friendly, and obviously hard working because, for one, he and new man on board Julian, a sweet guy who is going to do just fine, moved a mattress from one frame to another just to show me that it would in fact bend well with the adjustable frame.
