Let's talk about Nathan. Nathan makes subs. But also salads. This afternoon I went to Cheba Hut with my daughter and we ordered two salads. The guy on the cash register seemed inexperienced and unsure, but rang us up. As I'm still standing at the counter, I can hear him and Nathan talking, and Nathan says he rang it up wrong-- he rang it up as subs, not salads. And he says it dripping with attitude. Ok, so guy apologizes, and Nathan spouts off some more, and emphatically states, "I'm making sandwiches!" So I assume they will get their act together and I walk away. BUT HE MAKES SANDWICHES (subs). Now, he knows we didn't order sandwiches. He knows we ordered salads. I heard him say it. But like a petulant child, he decides to make sandwiches (subs) anyway. After an unusually long wait, the cash register guy comes out with two salad bowls with lettuce in them, and two subs. And cheerfully tries to tell us we are getting "both!" We're getting salads AND subs! NO. No we are not. We now have to scrape the contents of the subs into the salad bowls with lettuce and somehow this is what we paid for. Because Nathan threw a temper-tantrum. Not because there was any misunderstanding. Nathan knew what the order was supposed to be. I heard him start the argument. He just refused to make it. Knowledge of the Menu: They demonstrated a thorough understanding of the menu, including the specials of the day. Daniel was able to make great recommendations based on our preferences, which enhanced our dining experience.
Efficiency: The service was prompt, from order taking to food delivery. Even when the restaurant was busy, Daniel remained professional and organized, ensuring that everything went smoothly.
Problem Handling: During my visit, there was a minor issue with my order. Daniel handled it quickly and apologetically, resolving the situation without any hassle. Their professionalism was greatly appreciated.

Read moreI've been a loyal Cheba Hut fan for many years, so I was excited when this location on Sunland park Dr. opened on 4/19. Unfortunately, my experience has been consistently disappointing. On the first day, my sandwich was incorrect and missing ingredients. I went back the second day with my kids, and 3 out of 6 of our sandwiches were wrong. I received mine 45 minutes after everyone else.
Since then, we've been back at least 10 more times, and not once has our order been correct. It's disheartening to see so many other customers sending their sandwiches back too. The worst experience was when I brought sandwiches to my son and his wife at the hospital after they had a baby. We opened the bags only to find two sandwiches missing. I called and spoke with a manager who was dismissive and unhelpful. When I finally got the missing sandwiches hours later, there was still no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. I was actually told “you’re welcome it wasn’t a problem at all” Ah, yes it was a problem!
The lack of accountability and poor service is astonishing. Despite my love for Cheba Hut, the repeated mistakes and unprofessionalism at this location make it impossible to enjoy.
