This was our second time coming to this place, with a few years in between visits. The first time was amazing. This time, not so much, unfortunately. The food was awful - practically inedible (but I'm not the kind of person who will send something back, I'll just avoid going back to a place that makes the food so poorly). I had the spicy chicken sandwich, which was way overcooked, and the flavor was just... off. It wasn't spicy, it tasted kinda spoiled to be honest (not the meat itself, which was the consistency of leather; the sauce they had on it was not good). The salad was a messy, mostly rotten pile of baby spinach and kale, with so much dressing that it was also inedible.
Now, on to the beer. My partner and I are a big fan of beer, and usually order flights wherever we go. We got a few beers here that were great, but unfortunately several of them tasted like line cleaner - I guess they don't do an initial pour off the taps when they open for the day? (We were there at lunchtime on a Friday, and the place was almost empty). One of the beers in particular, Mother Earth's Milk Truck Latte Stout on nitro, was not right at all. I've had this beer before, both on nitro and canned, and it's rich, creamy, and delicious (and way better on nitro). This beer tasted watered down, and even when I let the glass sit for a minute, the color was completely off. I don't know what they did to the beer to make it come out like that, but it was literally undrinkable - it had the line cleaner taste too, like some of the other ones.
Overall the visit was very disappointing, as I love the concept of a self-serve tap house, but at least when you get a flight in a brewery, the server will pour off the foam (not an option here, unless you want to pay to throw away beer), and get rid of the line-cleaner-stank that happens when lines sit with beer in...
Read moreI'm not sure I have anything good to say about the place. I'm trying because I rarely write poor reviews and it was my first time there so I wanted to like it. The food was awful. The bartender didn't know how to make drinks. My tab for just myself for 3 drinks and terrible, tiny, 2 shrimp tacos was $90. $90- See my receipt. Oh and I came in with a big bottle of water and asked for a cup with ice for my water. They charged me $4 for that cup of ice. Ridiculous. The tacos were so tiny the shell fell apart even before trying to pick it up. I had to ask for a fork to eat a taco. Yup, a fork to eat a taco. My friend asked for a cranberry and vodka and got it in a rocks glass which was correct but it was only 1/4 full as if it was considered a martini but put in the wrong glass. She had to ask to fill the rest with cran. I wanted a glass of scotch. They had 2 options. Glenn Fiddich and Macallan. What a joke and a way to pump up someone's bar tab. I then asked for a Jack and Diet and got it in a tall soda glass although I didn't ask for a double tall nor a double for it to be in a pint glass. I had one chicken wing that my friend ordered and it was nothing special. I asked my other friend about their burger and they said it was just okay. It didn't look special either. It's definitely bar food at it's worst. Oh and the ladies room is a bit creepy. There's a random table in there that looks like a slab in a morgue. Just a wierd setup in there. I'm sorry to even write this negative review but it disappoints me to pay $100 for terrible service, food and drinks. As they...
Read moreIf you’re looking for good food, great beer and even better people, you found it. This spot is ideal for your casual hang with friends, game day, an informal date night, or just an excuse to enjoy some tasty craft beers. And while the beers may not be kid friendly, the rest of the place is with plenty of space, some table games and TVs to distract them while the adults have their fun too.
The beer selection is top-notch, with a wide variety of local and regional brews on self-pour taps, as well as plenty of options for those who prefer ciders, seltzers, or wine. And if you’re feeling adventurous (or indecisive), their beer flights give you the chance to sample a variety of different brews before settling for the long-haul with your favorites.
The food menu may not be as extensive as their beer selection, but it is thoughtfully curated and features something for everyone (yes even vegans).
The best thing about this place is the people. Buzzing with El Segundo’s finest, the atmosphere is laid-back and inviting. The creative, yet spacious concept makes for a naturally social environment; while the beer selection and self-serve taps foster healthy discussion over a shared passion for beer.
Go for the beer, sample the food, stay...
