I’ll be honest I gave Big Lots three chances. My wife and I first bought a bed after 6 months it breaks. We return it and get our money back. I thought maybe it’s a fluke. My wife and mom bought me a recliner which lasted a good bit of time. Now it won’t recline at all after a year and a half. Then we wanted to upgrade our couch and love seat this month to a sectional. We picked out the one we wanted. We loved it! I go pick it up 45min away from home. Get it home and the small section of the sectional is crushed on one side. I take it back to get a refund and the workers in the furniture section have no idea how to work the computer. They then mess up my return and refund and put the cash money I paid on my big lots credit card. They tell me they don’t know how to fix it. They tell me to call Big Lots corporate number. I call the number the next day and after sitting on the phone for an hour they tell me the store would have to process my refund. I then have to go back to the store to get my refund. The only two people who actually knew how to use the system and helped me greatly were the head store manager and assistant manager. They are the only reason this is getting two stars. Picked up the got rid of the old set put the new couch together looked good.the very next day it started to sag, called big lot, they agreed to replace it, we went to the store to make arrangements to replace the defect furniture with a new one. We were told by the store manager that we would have to pay to order the replacement and when it came in, we could bring the defective one back and they would credit us, we already paid for the furniture and the extended warranty. The reason they ask you to pay up front is to satisfy the cash register to place the order. We will be taking the 400 plus they were asking for and putting it towards new furniture with better quality and better customer service, then within the 30 day return policy it is going back for a full refund of the purchase price and the extended warranty. Read moreI have a client that purchased batteries in the Elizabeth City, NC location. When she went to return them for a different size she walked straight to the check out counter with the bag and showed the clerk the batteries. She proceeded through the store to get the right sized batteries and a few cleaning supplies. She was then approached by the manager and accused of stealing the batteries. Not only did the manager wrongfully accuse her and embarrass her in front of a line of people. They took the batteries that she purchased. The camera was reviewed by my person's Personal Care Staff and manager. The video never showed her stealing the batteries. They never apologized. Never returned the batteries to her. The cashier backed her testimony too. My program has purchased thousands of dollars worth of furniture and home start up items in this store. She is very upset about this and refuses to patron your store ever again! I...
