Ross Dress for Less — Local services in Elizabeth City

I was in there as a fire drill was in place. The alarms just started blasting. I was up front checking out and an AA woman was checking me out, she has braids and a defective eye. She was the most aggravating, obnoxious, rude person I have ever met. The fire department was coming in doing their routine, and she was screaming help while checking me out. She said " I don't even understand why they got to come in here like it's a real fire anyway ". My husband is a volunteer firefighter, and I took that comment that she made to heart. What if it was a real fire and they didn't know whether it was real or fake. They're just doing their job. I will never go back into this Ross. I always love this store. The merchandise may have to be sought for a little to find your size or something specific but overall it's pretty airy, open, and bright. I love coming here for housewares or putting together a last minute gift basket for a friend. The staff are always friendly, except in the dressing room area. I avoid this section by all means, they yell at you for serving yourself but are rarely there to help you when you look for them. I hate dressing rooms like these, I understand theft to be an issue but wasting my precious time is an issue too. And as a parent, it's a pain to try something on in the first place. At least if they are going to hassle you to get in, they should pull other sizes for you try and make...

This store is hit or miss for finding clothes. They have less merchandise than other Ross' stores that I have visited.

Merchandise is unorganized for the most part. Items that don't belong are placed everywhere. Clothing racks are a mix of sizes instead of being placed in size order. You have to go through each rack.

Items, such as their beauty section, have been opened, used & placed back in the boxes or there are empty boxes where items have been stolen. A lot of items are in a pile that you have to sort through.

Check out lines are long and my last visit the cashier was distracted by other cashiers, which made it take longer than necessary for me to purchase one item.
