Helzberg Diamonds — Local services in Elizabeth

After the experience I had today, I will NEVER spend my hard-earned money at a Helzberg location again. I had a family diamond set in an engagement ring that I gave to my fiancée barely three weeks ago when I proposed, and the ring was defective and cracked. You can see the damage in the pictures I’ve posted as well.

This is a very sentimental ring, one that I would have hoped would never break or crack, but unfortunately, it did. I have purchased several pieces of jewelry from Helzberg in the past, including promise rings, a necklace, earrings, and more over the last five years. However, today was the final straw.

I originally purchased the ring at the Woodbridge location, where I usually shop. Today, I was directed to the Elizabeth location because they had a jeweler on-site who could repair the ring in about 15 minutes. Out of respect for all parties, I won’t mention the store manager’s name, but her attitude was appalling.

I was greeted by another sales associate who was extremely pushy, going on and on about the whole store being 30% off and other unnecessary nonsense. I was not there to spend money; I was there to address a defective ring. Not once did anyone show concern or care about how my piece of jewelry was damaged. I was not offered any compensation or even a shred of sympathy. Instead, I was pressured to buy more jewelry for Christmas.

After the repair, the manager lectured me, saying that next time I would have to pay $69 for same-day priority repairs. This is absurd! If the craftsmanship and quality had been up to par, I wouldn’t have needed a repair in the first place. I HIGHLY advise anyone thinking of buying any jewelry to shop around and do your research before you spend your money...

1st I want to give 5 Big stars to the sales associate Luisa and the new store manager Teanna!!!! They were absolutely Amazing! They both seen all the imperfections without the magnifying glass. They both stayed in contact with me and let me know Ever Single update until the problem was rectified.

My most recent experience at the Jersey Gardens location, left my band so the stones could be replaced. Got the call the ring was ready within the week. Examining my ring I noticed immediately with the naked eye all the imperfections. Three stones had to be replaced and the job was a sloppy ass job. There were big gaps, the stones were not all aligned, three stones in the center were now really dark. I showed one of the sales representatives and he tried to make it seem like it was the lighting, that’s how the ring is, blah blah blah. I left with the band unsatisfied with their “work” they thought they accomplished. The ring would scratch me while applying lotion and rinsing my face. Not even one month later stones came out. I did bring back the ring and I was very upset because not only was I back in damn near less than a month. The male sales representatives were Trash! Tried to gas light me and make it seem like that’s how a ring should be and it’s the lighting. The jeweler who has been “fixing” the jewelry needs to maybe find a different title within. To have the ring under the magnifying glass and not see what is wrong with the work is crazy. The work was soooo bad I was embarrassed to wear it with and of course...
