Worst customer service experience ever. Workers ignoring customers, a couple waited ten minutes at the cash register to pay for their food when they should've just left, I asked for a refund after being ignored for 20 minutes but didn't receive it so I had to send my husband in to do his thing and get it, workers were eating at the front counter with the manager on break and lollygagging all while customers (me included) waited at the cash register. The manager finally gave a refund after sending my husband in but there was no apology, no what happened, no how can we make this better so we can keep your money. Just here's your refund. The only two people working their butts off were the two Hispanic ladies. Everyone else was eating food, talking, texting and ignoring people. Including the manager not on break. And the manager that was on break sat right at the bar and distracted her team from working. She was told by another employee I wanted a refund but did nothing to tell anyone else about handling it. Instead she joked and shared food with workers. If you're on break and don't want to work, then go eat somewhere else! Not at the bar. Then, when my husband came she said "oh, is it the same refund the lady needed? Okay." This Johnny Rockets needs new staff and soon because they only care about their paychecks.
Also, it was very dirty. No organization what so ever. I'm also pretty sure I saw the cook grab a handful of raw chicken, put it in the fridge and used the same gloved hand to touch other objects. Im pretty sure, not 100% but it did give me the heebie jeebies.
I got my refund and walked right over to Nathan's. I was greeted with a smile and got my food in a...
Read moreI'd start off by saying I am a big fan of the Johnny Rocket franchise, however this was amongst one of the worse dining experiences I've ever had. There seems to be a lack of management in this place, the staff was sparse and 5 of them had to run the entire restaurant.
We waited outside for 10 minutes while there were many open tables/booths visible from the line. The booth we were brought to had ripped up seats. We ordered 2 classic burgers, 1 milk shake, onion rings and fries. They were out of onion rings, so we had to cancel that item. The milk shake came rather quickly, and it was delicious as usual - however this was about the highlight of the meal. After 20 more minutes, the burgers came - the buns were cold, the cheese were not melted, the bottom was greasy with a lot of mayo that started dripping off the burger. The waiter then asked "Oh, you guys got fries too right?" to which I responded yes.
We finished most of the burger - the parts that were edible. Which was about 10 to 15 minutes after we were served, the fries still did not come. We eventually had to cancel the fries since we never received it. I'd also like to mention, there were small flies in the restaurant, not many, but one happened to land on my food. Murphy's law in full effect here.
Overall it was about an hour to eat here, to which we only received 2 burgers and 1 shake.. and all the food felt rushed and un-done or done with little to no care. I'd highly recommend AGAINST this establishment. If you're in the mood for Johnny Rockets, I'd recommend the Woodbridge, NJ location instead. Or many of the other dining options within the...
Read moreWe've eaten at a few Johnny rockets in New Jersey, including the one in Hoboken and Paramus. This was our first time at the Elizabeth location.
Of course there are problems with the location being so small and the line outside having to wait to get in, but that doesn't affect my review.
Our actual wait outside wasn't too long less than 10 minutes, so that was good.
However when it came to the actual burger, they weren't cooked enough. They tasted like they could have got a few more minutes on the grill just to get to medium rare. But regardless of the amount of cooking, the burger is really lacked that flavor a burger should have.
We also paid $2.00 extra for the unlimited fries, but being how busy they were it took too long to get to fries making that $2.00 a waste.
There's a jukebox in the corner entrance, feel free to select the free song to play before you sit down.
Also there is another entrance closer that we saw people walk in and sit down from while they were still a line of people waiting to get in. This is something that should be roped off to prevent those that feel too privileged to wait.
I was also shocked that how disgusting the refrigerator looked for orders waiting to be picked up! I hate to pull my food out of the refrigerator that looked that bad! See my photo
Also the men's bathroom door with broken, making it dangerous for younger person or an older person to get stuck in the bathroom. See my photo
