My family and I were there for my nephew's 9am college graduation at the prudential center, which was about 12-15 minutes away... we came the day before, so we'd be there early and possibly get great seats... However, we woke up the morning of the graduation to cold water... it was 3 of us. It was also cool the night before, we figured that it wasn't an issue because we let it run a little, and it would turn warm... but that morning, we let it run, & this didn't happen, I called several times downstairs to tell the front desk, which took me about 10 minutes. Finally, someone answered and said there were no more rooms she could move us to, with a man's voice in the background insisting, there were no more rooms... I explained the situation to her & how the water was cold the night before as well... she put me on hold and then said she'll call me back... we figured, let's let it run while we grab breakfast from downstairs & it should be warm when we get back. Nope! It was still cold. With no call back, I called the front desk, she's said she was gonna try to move me down the hall but wanted to test the water 1st. She updated my digital key, so i was able to go there to test it as well... I saw someone come out of the room as I was walking down the hall. I went inside and turned on the water. It was cold, too. I let it run while I went back to my room to tell my family that we probably should just wash up in the sink which was child too, because it's getting late, and we already missed our 7:45 ride. I called the front desk again and she told me she's looking for another room. I said we'll now we're in a rush because we've missed our ride and now have to take a cab and it's getting closer to the rush hour which means it's gonna take us about 20-30 minutes to get there, And we all still have to wash and get dressed... and to move all of our stuff from one room to another, shower, and get dress would be to much for the time we have left. She said sometime is coming up now to give us keys for 5 floors above us...I said ok and went back to the room to shut off the shower , surprisingly, the water was hot. I called her back and said we're gonna stay in the 2nd room because the water is finally hot...I had my mother, that's in a wheelchair and to do all that moving around I just can not! So we'll just move down the hall... she said ok you don't have to move your stuff in the 2nd room yet. Just wait until you get back, but for now, yal can shower in the 2nd room and have both keys. I said perfect. Which I appreciated... It's now 8:20... we all shower and get dressed in a rush, and now it's 9:00. I ordered a lift cab, and it says it's 15 minutes away... I then call the front desk and ask... is there any way their shuttle can accommodate us and take us to the prudential center because of all the confusion & now we're definitely going to be late, she tells me there is no way because it only goes to the airport...I said I know but can you accommodate us because we missed our ride, I ordered a lift and that's also gonna make us later... the shuttle is right downstairs. Can they accommodate us because it's not our fault. She said no... with no apology, which I have an issue with. Of course, we get to the graduation late. We have to now search for seats with wheelchair accessorbility. Each floor is already full. We get to the last floor, and we miss his walk-in. My mother's 1st. Grandson. It was so disappointing. My 1st. Nephew. The hotel's actions for not accommodating I us with just a ride would've made us forget all about the troubles. Customer care is a real thing... AT the least, try to be accommodating and empathetic. I'm usually satisfied with anything, hilton... but I think this was a mistake. I should've stayed at the embassy right across the street. They...
Read moreFrom the silent traveler to all of you. Be well, be safe, be positive. It's been a while since I've done reviews so let's get right to it on this hotel. Security wise you definitely have to have a key in order to get to the room. Now this hotel apparently has been bowed out by the Hilton it used to be the country inn suites which is no longer there. There's quite a bit of history that took place at this facility you have to do your own homework and research on it. But they're going through some changes to make it better example I didn't take pictures of it because I want to try to come back and get the final pictures for it. Versus the before and after. The gym don't even go they have some up-to-date equipment but it is so tight and compact that really one person can be in there no more than one that's how small it is okay you might get two you might be able to squeeze two in there but the room looks very depressing. Couldn't find a pool cuz I think they're renovating it and expand out the gym not 100% sure the front desk agent didn't really have a whole lot of information The one thing I suggested them is if this is renovation you guys need a lock that door cuz it was so easy for me to open that up and go right in. Or at least put a sign on there the same construction in place do not enter. The breakfast in the morning really good you're standard Hampton inn breakfast so it was nice very well laid out just like any Hampton inn. The lobby looks really inviting as you walk in which is nice no bad smell it was cool I noticed a big like air conditioning unit in the corner so again renovating to improve things. So let's get to the room when I first got to the room I wasn't sure I had the right room because apparently there was a supervisor or manager check in a room make sure everything was good and ready which was good I like that part trying to pay attention to details but apparently both the housekeeper and the supervisor miss this part that I'm about to explain. As I was checking things out around the room the bathroom the beds the comfort of them the pillows I wanted to see about the microwave and mini fridge. I open up the microwave and found food inside. Which was interesting so I touch the microwave plate and realize it was still a little warm like food had just been prepared. I proceeded to open up the little refrigerator and notice it was full of food. Which again had me wondering two things was somebody occupying this room currently or will somebody taking a break in this room because the microwave plate was warm food was in the fridge I didn't want somebody to come back while I was sleep So I called down the front desk was left on hold for roughly 15 to 20 minutes before I got an answer that somebody was coming up to clean that out too long of a hole and definitely too long to resolve the issue. But I'm quite sure my travels will bring me back through and I will end up checking this out again. But definitely when you get in your room check everything out from head to toe. Now as far as the area goes there's a mall right across the street I love Ruby Tuesday's but found out they had a kitchen fire so that ruined my day there. but it's still a nice area to walk plus if you don't like the hotel there are several others right around in the area in walking distance there's an embassy right across the street and I think a Marriott and a Sheraton just adjacent to the hotel. But again please check your room I'll make sure that everything is done correctly as you want it. From the silent traveler to all of...
Read moreMay 2025, I stayed 2 nights at this property and I wasn’t happy because I didn’t feel valued as a gold member & worst experience ever.||Last year April 2024, I stayed 2 nights at this property and everything was good so this why I chose to stay here again but I will select other options in the future.||On 5/6, when we arrived at the Hampton Inn, the majority of the parking spaces for check in was blocked off and we parked in the only open space. We checked in dropped off our luggage then about 15 minutes later we got a call from the front desk asking us to move the car because of a supposedly of a photo shoot. The outside of the hotel looked terrible. All the grass appeared as they were planting or laying sod everywhere. How is it possible that the hotel only has 1 open parking space for check in? Needless to say we moved the vehicle because we didn’t want any problems. Also we had to take the rental car back to the airport so we didn’t park overnight.||After checking into the hotel, the employee didn’t offer me the snack bag and I didn’t receive any info about the breakfast hours. Later that evening after dropping off my rental car at EWR airport, I called the hotel 3 times.||Twice I was put on hold and after several minutes, I hung up. The third time, I called I was told there’s only 1 person working the front desk & it was very busy so that’s why the phone calls wasn’t being answered. Then I was told we had just missed the transportation shuttle service.||The transportation service took well over an hour. My husband & I set outside EWR P4 shuttle area from 8:30pm until 9:45pm. Several companies Doubletree, Embassy, Marriott & Renaissance & the other Hampton Inn Company had come round P4 at least 3 to 4 times before the Hampton driver for Elizabeth arrived around 9:45pm. I couldn’t believe it took that long for the shuttle service to come & this was highly disappointing.||In the room, the chair at the desk is absolutely nasty. How is it possible that your cleaning staff does not take the initial to have the chair cleaned? Does housekeeping management staff ever check behind the cleaning staff to ensure the rooms are being properly cleaned?||As a gold member, I used 65,000 points and paid cash for our 2 night stay and unfortunately I do not feel the points or cash I paid was worth staying here.||Upon check out, I noticed I was charged $20 for parking. So the question is why was I charged when I didn’t park a vehicle overnight? Also, I never used my room key to the access the parking gate. I went back into the hotel to get the parking charge removed but it still wasn’t taken care of. I had to call the hotel regarding the refund for the parking charge because the charge was still on my card. I had to file a dispute on my credit card to get the parking charge removed.||The staff is obviously confused as to whether transportation service is offered to Cape Liberty Bayonne, NJ. I received 2 different responses on 5/6. On 5/8, I asked a third person & I was told transportation was provided to Cape Liberty. ||Last but not least, it seems this hotel is operating on limited staff in the evening which has an impact on the customers as well as your staff having to deal with frustrated customers. Unfortunately, I did not feel valued and I’ll certainly reconsider other lodging options when I visit Newark, New Jersey...
