Let me start out positive by saying that the owners (the young couple) were very kind, and the husband was incredible with balancing helpfulness with personal space, and he had super friendly vibes. He even brought me a chair and a water bottle! However, his mother-in-law made our experience so uncomfortable we had to leave. She was overbearing and pushing her choices on my friend, and not listening when we said we didn’t like something. She was more interested in pushing her preferences on my friend than helping her customer find what she would like. She also didn’t give us privacy to change and would just come up to my friend and start putting things on her or taking them off, or adjusting things, without clear communication and consent. We found a couple of good options, but this woman made my friend so uncomfortable she had to leave. Her opinion as an almost-customer is that the mom needs to be fired, or at least trained in customer service, kindness, and respect. I probably would have left a 4-star review because the husband co-owner was so great, but I left my reusable coffee cup there and had to return. At this time he was gone, and it was his wife / co-owner and her mom now. The co-owner woman seemed nice - brief interaction - but her mom was so rude. She took it personally that my friend didn’t make the purchase and chose to make me uncomfortable about it. I was going to look for an accessory to buy because I felt bad that we didn’t end up buying anything, but the mom was hovering closely behind me and kept repeating “no lehenga” (type of matching outfit we were looking at) over and over while frowning. I said politely that I was sorry my friend didn’t buy one, but we had to go to make her next appointment (the truth) and asked if I could please use the restroom again (she let me earlier while shopping) before driving home. She frowned at me again and said “No.” I said, “You let me use it earlier. You won’t let me now because we didn’t buy anything?” and she said “Yes.” So petty. Then she literally stood in the doorway and stared at me going into the car to drive away. So unpleasant.
So to the 2 lovely co-owners, I gotta let you know that mom is ruining the customer experience and pushed my friend away from a big sale. And to the husband, thank you so much. You were so lovely and hospitable and really considered our comfort. I’m sorry it didn’t work out- you’re great.
♿️Accessibility: this store is upstairs and we took stairs to get to it. Maybe the other side of the strip mall has a ramp, but I can’t confirm...
Read moreI was recently invited to celebrate Diwali at one of my co-workers homes. I was really excited about the invitation and wanted to get Indian attire to wear to the celebration. My co-worker told me to check out this store. I am a plus size woman so I was really hesitant but I called and the owner (Heena) informed that they had clothing in my size. The outfit that was offered to me was a long tunic top and pants. The outfit was pretty however I felt like it was cheaply made, similar to linen material. I purchased the outfit for $153. When I checked out, I was asked for my telephone number and received my receipt via text, never a hard copy. I thought that was really weird but at the time did not think that I would need to return it.
I immediately contacted my co-worker to let her know that I purchased the outfit and she asked for a photo. I sent her a photo and she asked how much did I pay for it.... she then told me that I could have gotten the same outfit off of Amazon for about $40. Sure enough I looked at Amazon and similar outfits were posted for about $40-60.
The next day I contacted the company via messenger and inquired about the return policy wanting to know how long I had to return the outfit for a full reimbursement. I received a response back that there would be no refunds. This is a lot of money to not be given the option to get a full reimbursement. I messaged the owner a few times requesting to return and get my money back but she was not willing to. There was nothing at the register stating that all sales are final. When I informed the owner of this, she sent me a picture on the wall near the dressing room. I never received a hard copy of a receipt stating this policy either. I then contacted my bank and they opened up a dispute claim, this is bad business. It is so sad that customers are treated this poorly and I get that they are a small business but this is completely unethical. I will share my experience on...
Read moreWe had hoped to purchase our wedding attire from Desi Girl Fashion Boutique, but the experience was thoroughly disappointing and unacceptable. The store suffers from extremely poor management, a lack of professionalism, and an alarming disregard for customer service. The staff was dismissive, unhelpful, and exhibited a condescending attitude—especially toward all customers (regardless of ethnicity or nationality). Communication was disorganized, and basic inquiries were met with hostility or indifference.
Their management’s responses to other negative reviews are defensive and aggressive, clearly showing they do not value feedback or care about improving. Rather than take accountability, they deflect blame and insult customers. This is not just unprofessional—it’s entirely inappropriate for any business operating in the U.S., where respectful and responsive customer service is a basic expectation.
Given their attitude, disorganization, and clear bias, Desi Girl Fashion Boutique should seriously reconsider whether they are fit to serve the diverse clientele in any American city. I would strongly advise other people to take their money and business ...
