We’ve eaten lunch and dinner at this new Ellicott City location several times since they opened. Our first experience was very enjoyable, but sadly, each time since has gone downhill. We recently brought friends for an early dinner and the restaurant was not at all busy. First, we were seated at a table that was dirty. We politely asked if it could be wiped off and our server gave us an attitude, then only cleaned off half of it. Two of us had unclean silverware wrapped up in the cloth napkins. The once delicious salads were markedly smaller and barely had any toppings. All the steaks ordered came out incorrectly cooked — several NY Strips ordered Medium Rare and Medium were Medium Well (confirmed by the little plastic “Med Well” steak temp markers in each of them). Another ordered Medium came out raw, literally raw. A couple of side dishes were missing and we had to flag down a different server to get assistance as ours disappeared. We sent back the steaks, but no one checked to see if they came out right the second time. Bizarrely, one was returned cut in half with a good sized portion of the meat and the vegetable side completely gone. Dinner rolls were small, over-baked and tough; three times-requested steak sauce never arrived, drinks weren’t refilled without first having to locate our server, and plates/bowls from the appetizers and salads weren’t cleared during the entire meal — we had to stack dishes to make enough room for the entrees. Having worked in restaurants (from casual pubs to fine dining), I know all too well there are times when things unfortunately go wrong…both back of the house and front. However, what’s completely unacceptable is to not try and “make it right” for the customer. Dirty tables/utensils, could-care-less servers, and incorrectly cooked food across the board is a sign of poor management. Training servers should be a priority, tables need to be bussed throughout the meal, and someone needs to follow up with guests that experience a problem. It takes commitment, but it’s not impossible to do if you care. Customers have endless choices as to where to eat out and having now tried this restaurant 4 times, we’re done. Back to steaks at Outback, Longhorn and Texas...
Read moreIf I could give this review zero stars I would! I took my husband out to celebrate at the Ellicott City location last night on August 3. We have been going to the Parkville location for years which we love. We were excited that a location was open near our new home. We were so disappointed! The food was horrible! You should not serve anyone food that you would not eat or serve to your family. The rolls were hard, wings were dry, crab dip had barely if any crab meat. They ran out of ribeyes at a steakhouse that only had a few customers . Than the steak I ordered was undercooked. The chili smelled and tasted old and disgusting. The manager and waiter even said the rolls were unacceptable so why serve them to us??! The customers behind us were complaining as well. The manger said the bread maker was off…so still don’t serve us rolls that you know were not edible! The salad was the only item up to par. After sending multiple items back, we still took a chance and ordered the apple bread pudding to go, which we always order from the Parkville location. That’s what you see in the pictures. The pictures really speak for themselves! When we opened it at home I couldn’t believe they would serve us that. It was like they just took the bread and poured some type of liquid on it. The bread was not cut up or even baked!!! They didn’t even try! We still paid our entire bill , they took off $3 for the chili. We spent over $100 and still left a nice tip for our waiter. You need to train your staff and cooks properly. I hope no one will ever have to experience what we did. Our celebration was ruined and money wasted. I’ve never experienced anything like this. I look forward to hearing from you very soon! This is an update! I woke up after we left there maybe after 4 hours vomiting and bad stomach pains. I will never eat there again! I can’t believe...
Read moreTaking out the niece, nephew, and grand nephew (Birthday Love). My niece highly recommended this joint. I've got mixed opinions.
Myon was our excellent server. He was personable, professional, and knowledgeable of menu items, and any questions/issues were promptly addressed.
Now for the food. The starter was Naked Steakhouse Wings with assorted sauces. It was fine. Caesar Salad with dressing, which was a little too vinegary for my tastes, so it was just ok.
The entrees consisted of the FiIet Kebab basted with Teriyaki Sauce. The Teriyaki Sauce was reminiscent of cornstarch gravy - not a fan. The sauce was not tasty and seemed to have been poured over the kebab - not basted. Plus, it came out cold over undercooked Wild Rice. It was disappointing. However, they remade it without the teriyaki, and that was sufficient.
My niece was not happy with the Parmesan Peppercorn Chicken. Wasn't at all tasty. It was tough and flavorless.
My grand nephew ordered a Lobster Tail and a Center Cut USDA Sirloin Steak. The lobster tail came drenched in butter, and for some reason, Old Bay seasoning which was not requested.
The Restaurant Manager, Mr. Hosane admitted a mistake had been made. The next Lobster Tail came out with too much butter and paprika. I'm sorry, I dont want Old Bay or Paprika on my lobster, period. The steak was cooked to order. However, it didn't seem to have been finished properly.
Finally, the signature drink Blueberry Strawberry lemonade was not made with Stoli, but Smirnoff. I noticed a difference, so i ordered a second with a shot of Stoli on the side. It was then I was told that they did not have any Stoli.
So. When I come back in the area, I will give them another chance--restaurants can have a bad day-- but in the meantime, the food was subpar. For me,...
