Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Ellsworth

I was expecting great service, yummy blizzards, the infamous FLIPPED BLIZZARD,etc...I hope they either improve over time or just close! I paid for 3 large blizzards, was given change&instead of being personable, the employee just closed the window. While putting my change away he came to the window with my flurries in a drink tray. I said, "oh I thought you guys turned them upside-down. That's one of your big selling points" he said, "oh! You didn't see me!?" I'm thinking, no I didn't see you through the closed window while putting my change away! But I politely just said "no I didn't see you." He said, "oh I turned the chocolate one upside-down" again I thought, "convenient that he did it when I wasn't looking but what about the other 2?" Dairy Queens "thing" is if they aren't turned upside-down the next one is free!! I didn't get any vouchers for a free blizzard so I was hoping that they would at least taste good... They are equivalent to McDonald's & they are twice as expensive!! Only 2/3rds of the blizzard had Reese's peanut butter cups. The bottom 1/3 was straight vanilla "iced milk". They only offer about 5 different candies to add to blizzards. M&M, Oreo, Reese's, Heath bar, & cookie dough, I think. They are DAIRY QUEEN! Shouldn't they have everything?? They do offer 3-4 "specialty" flurries that are more expensive. Don't think I'll do much business there.

Since my original review, I know of 6 people (between 2 separate families) that said they got food poisoning from eating the hot food there within the first week of them opening!! Glad we had only tried...

My husband used to work here. He came home one day telling me about how people were treating him because of his race. And the owner did nothing about it. I'm from Maine and I'm familiar with the Ellsworth area. People can be quite judgmental because of someones race. My husband is a very kind man and treats everybody with the same respect he wants to be treated with. Doesn't have a mean bone in his body. But if this owner knew how to run a business correctly there would have been no problems. I'm very disappointed that we live in a world where race and color matters but no one does anything about it. Idk, it seems like every time I come in here it's a 30 minute wait. Even if the lobby is empty. I'm a doordash driver AND someone who has worked in the fast food industry. There is NO reason I should be waiting 30 minutes for an order! If you want quick and speedy service, look somewhere else. If you want your order to be accurate, go somewhere else. If you want to be stared at by employees in the back, come here ig if that's your thing. But come onnn, I was supposed to pick up an order at 1:18pm, I am still standing here waiting for a combo meal and a salad at 1:41pm. What in the actual hell is going on at this business.
