DON’T EAT HERE, FOOD HAS MOLD! Seeing that this KFC is currently standing at a respectable 2.7/5, I’m sure my negative review doesn’t matter anyhow, but I figured I’d share just because this is legitimately a matter to your health. I went to this KFC last night (March 13, 2025) around 7PM and ordered my usual: 2 chicken littles combo and a beef chalupa supreme. Upon opening the bag, I realized they forgot my mashed potatoes and gravy, no big deal, it happens. I ate my chalupa and moved on to my chicken littles. I ate about half of the first one when I turned it over and noticed there was mold on the bun. I ate mold. I would usually feel bad about posting a negative review but hey, DON’T FEED YOUR CUSTOMERS MOLD??? Attached is a photo of my receipt and the sandwich accompanied by its delicious spot of greyish-greenish mold. I went in today after work to see if I could get a refund, the least they could do in my opinion. I was very respectful and made sure to speak quietly to the manager as not to alert the customers about their apparent mold problem. I explained the situation and asked for a refund, all the manager said was, “we don’t do refunds.” He had absolutely no urgency to fix the issue, that was apparent. Are you serious? I actually worked at this very KFC/Taco Bell on and off for a couple years, we did give refunds when I worked there, what changed? I feel like getting MOLD on your food should at least be an exception for getting a refund. I didn’t even get that much food, everything I mentioned, plus a crunchwrap, totaling $23. The manager offered to remake it for me, so nonchalantly, like this sort of thing happens all the time. I said no, obviously, because you fed me mold, so why would I ever eat here again? It was a real bummer, too. I used to love this place. Oh well. I’ll never be eating at this...
Read moreUPDATE:(8/07/24): The Colonel would roll over in his grave. This location REALY needs new management, or Ellsworth needs a Popeye's! Sadly, anyone looking for fried chicken at a good value should probably look elsewhere. Recent visits to this location have been a sharp reminder of how important good culture is to any organization. Food is very rarely fresh. Most of our last order had to be thrown out. The chicken was so old that the coating had all fallen off, and it was not hot. I half suspected they dug it out of the expired/toss out bin. They are VERY upset by large orders. Customers with large orders are frequently turned away or told they dont have enough chicken and it the customer will have to wait 45 minutes to get their order. If you persist, expect to have the shift leader come to the front to stare you into leaving, followed by having your order nearly thrown at you. Also, do not expect to be treated well. There is NEVER a manager higher than a shift leader on site, so there is no one to complain or appeal to and the ownership of the franchise, to spite their contact Info on the wall is deliberately impossible to reach for customer service complaints. I have removed the comments from my previous review regarding the staff. Regrettably, that has turned for the worse as well. As I've stated, large orders are met with anger and rude behavior and complaints. Ellsworth really needs a Popeye's.
Previous review below: The food here is RARELY fresh. Our family is a big, busy crew and the 16 PC. meal gets the evening hungries put to bed. Per usual, though, the bottom half of this evening's bucket was so old that the coating wouldn't stay on the chicken. The management at this location clearly doesn't grasp the connection between freshness and value enough to incorporate it into their...
Read moreNot the best KFC chicken we have eaten. My family has been eating KFC for over 50 years, Maine to Florida. This $78. order was delivered + tip, for; 16 piece crispy chicken with four sides, with the little apple puffs 10 ct, (dessert), with soda and tropical lemonade, ordered at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, should have been freshly made. The chicken looked over cooked dark brown with little to no breading that was soggy and greasy. Tasted like the oil was old and too hot. No crispy at all. The bucket bottom was covered with liquid dark brown grease. Received 5 legs, 2 breasts, 5 thighs and 1 wing. The young child loves fried chicken -would not even eat one leg and said "I don't like it". The large sides of Macaroni and cheese, and corn were half full. The large coleslaw was full, loaded with liquid. The eight biscuits were crushed -in their own container. The apple puffs were soggy, greasy, with hardly any filling, even the oven couldn't crisp them. Inedible. Pepsi and tropical lemonade. The best part of this meal was our mashed potatoes homemade -to go with the additional fourth side - gravy, was barely a cup worth. Mac 'n cheese was thick, heavy, the corn was oddly hard, chewy. In the last month I've ordered KFC crispy chicken in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania and the chicken was crispy, the food was light, fresh, and freshly made. You could really taste the difference. This KFC location needs a going over with what they're serving because I know it is not what KFC is known world...
