This chop shop was filthy. I had been here before a while back when it was somewhat new, and had a good experience. Today, I was killing some time and decided to get a cut. Walk in. No greeting. Hard plastic chairs to sit on like I'm at the DMV. The floor was covered in hair tapped up in little hair tumbleweeds on the entrance mat and literally everywhere. The floor was dirty with spill marks and scuff marks. Cabinets were looking worn and marker up. In every corner, around each station (even the 4 empty chairs that no hair was being cut). There was one chair being used that the base was actually clean on it... A spot opened up, the guy in front of me goes and sits down, the barber blew the hair on the ground that was there from the previous haircut everywhere away from the area he was in, and towards my direction. Ok. Now hair is floating my way. I hold my breath. Give him a "seriously" look, and straight up left. Don't come here until they clean up their shop, and get some more...

The haircut is relaxing, as good music plays in the background. Barbers are well-trained and prepared to handle all types of cuts and styles. Barbers take all their sweet time to make sure haircut turns out perfectly.
The inside has a classic, vintage feel. The ambiance is friendly and welcoming. Kind of reminds me of the neighborhood barbershop that you see in the movies.
Best price in Encinitas. Cost is extremely reaonable. Cash only. ATM inside. Call ahead of time to check the wait time, as this is a popular place.

I asked why are you closed (its 2:23 and the sign says open). He tells me, rudely, to leave and he won't be cutting my hair. When I close the glass door and look back, he sat back down, took his mask off and went back on his phone. I hope he isn't getting paid hourly to sit there with his friend and tell me to leave. I won't be coming back. And the person with him was obviously not a customer. His mask was off and they were messing around with one another. You have lost my business. Please look into the employee there today. Wish I would have...
