I need to ship a rare TMB 130 signature series telescope across the USA. I did not trust my own ability to package it safely so I trusted this UPS store to carefully package this expensive, (and possibly priceless- as it was in extremely limited production when produced- but is no longer in production) fine 130mm astronomical telescope. The scope was inside a dedicated case. The UPS store staff were informed of what it was and of its stated insured value of thousands of dollars. I paid for the shipping, insurance and packaging. I left the store thinking it all would be fine. But the UPS Encinitas store failed to carefully package it and instead, simply threw some bubble wrap around the scope (that fortunately was tightly braced inside its protective aluminum case) then put it into a cardboard box and then threw some (insufficient amount of ) paper around it. Consequently, as the box was too large for the item and the space between the box and the item was so large, the item rattled around inside the box which may have potentially destroyed it. So there I was, standing in this short, unassuming corridor for maybe seventeen (17) seconds before being helped by Godās own heaven-sent paragons of virtue to deliver my parcel to the other side of the world⦠in four (4) days. Sure it was a lot of money (I aināt the richest guy in the world, yāfeel?), but after a great deal of hesitation, they sweetened the deal and assured me that I wouldnāt have to worry about a thing after I left my parcel with them! I mean what a concept. Back in the old days, youād have to worry about a hawk snatching your carrier pigeon, but now they just yeet that mfāer over the rainbow to Amsterdam and you ādonāt have to worry about a thing!ā And they were right. Absolutely nothing phased me during those four (4) days.
PS The receiver contacted me to thank me for my admirably timely delivery. I am now married to his daughter! So...

On the website it indicated two packages were held at store for pickup, one of which did not need any authrorization from sender and another that was the shipnent from luxury store.Overnight the status changed from store pickup to second delivery atrempt, back to store pickup. Upon asking the delivery man we were told to go to the store. On reaching the store I was asked to sign off the tracker number and I was given only 1 shipment ( that which needed no authrorization). Meanwhile I got an email from the shipper for goods delivered. UPS saleswoman insisted there wasn't a second shipmemt in the system despite having records for it in my device.
