Yesterday our beloved family member went into cardiac arrest at home and was transported to MVN ER. It was a very bad experience for our family and the way we were treated by one particular Nurse (Julia Jankowski ). She was initially in stable condition after arrival there but then had a second arrest and was unable to be resuscitated. It was difficult time for our family. They did not take any of the equipment off of her for the family to be there. She had the intubation tube in with foam draining from her mouth, the cardiac arrest machine on top of her chest and even had the Iv's still running and alarming. After a while a nurse finally came in and turned off the alarming iv monitor. one person from our family asked if it was possible to get some of the equipment removed from her and was told that they have to leave everything since she was going to have an autopsy. The Dr. stopped in the speak with the daughter about the request for an autopsy, however, nobody in the family ever requested or even mentioned an autopsy. They still never came and removed anything to make her more presentable. They left her in the trauma room in the Er, which is very small, so some family members had to stand in the hall to allow others in the room and we were told that nobody could be standing in the hall way. Then not long after a Nurse named Julia Jankowski, came into the room and rudely said "You guys are going to have to wrap it up!" As we were shocked by just losing our family member we were also shocked by her telling us we had to leave. We were still there for a while as the family was still trying to make arrangements for the funeral home to come and pick her up. The Dr. came by again looking to speak with the daughter who was not in the room at the the time, then he stepped out Then the doctor came in and told us that we had to leave because they are short on rooms and she was in the only trauma room they had, also we noticed that they had a cop standing at the desk. The nurse Julia Jankowski came back in and again rudely asked if we'd spoken to the Doctor yet? And again, Nobody ever even requested to speak with the doctor. The patients son told the nurse we are leaving and she left the room and had security come in to tell us we had to leave. The security officer was nice and apologized about having to ask us to leave the room, however, he told us that we had to step out to allow them to remove the equipment and could stay with her until she was taken to the morgue. He escorted us to the lobby and then came back after 5 minutes and said sorry but you guys are not going to be able to come back in. Several of us in the family are medical personal and RN's and have never experienced not preparing a deceased patient for bereavement time with their family or even limiting the time that a family spent there after the death.

Our family has had only terrible experiences with Miami Valley Hospital and Miami Valley North. The only reason our family member was in the condition to have this cardiac arrest event was because of the negligent care that she initially received at Miami Valley Hospital in January 2023 that caused her to go from completely independent to bedridden since.

Although the MD and security officer were very nice with our family, she still wasn't given respectful end of life care. The Nurse Julia Jankowski, seemed to have some racial micro-aggressions toward us.

I absolute;y would not recommend anyone to come here or Miami...

I would like sit down and discuss the absolutely horrible experience that this er visit was, rather than becoming hateful I invite the higher ups to reach out to me and I will provide factual Information and let the facts speak for themselves and ask that after these facts are presented that the Male nurses and the female Dr personally reach out and apologize and hopefully learn from my disgust being expressed, step down to a more qualified position or leave and allow a more competent and compassionate individual step up as I felt more competent with the engaged and seemingly held back by her absolutely arrogant superior head female doctor, my needs and questions asking if the main campus could aide in relieving pressure, the earlier doctor visit and ultrasound performed prior showed a n 8mm, 5mm, and 4mm fluid pocket were scoffed at by the female arrogant doctor and the male doctor . The pain level I was experiencing was expresses and I now realize pain management and pill pushing are not the way , I immediately left disgusted and made a 4 hr trip to the fabulous Cleveland clinic where a thorough and professional approach had me leave the er with this issue fixes as compartment syndrome was not check at premier and it was asked to the arrogant female doctor as I was on the phone with a surgeon friend there at Cleveland . Bottom like I got in I got care and relief and 33 mL removed and sent home happy from the Cleveland clinic . You can decide if you want to be a pill pushing facility to feed your rehab or fix your issues , you decide profiteer or provider and I really should not have this billed to my insurance and by the was Trisha Strayers office is excellent and has aided me in my health management . The staff jennifer and Jessica are excellent at premier health north .and u will highly recommend and hope Iyou feel guilty charging for this visit , in my businesses if an employee is a prick it represents...

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I was in the ER today with my son who was having left lower quadrant pain. They let us know immediately before we even went back that my 9 year old son couldn’t go back and I was taken aback by that because he seem to be the focus more than my other son who was actually being treated. My 9 year old wasn’t disruptive, rude, loud, etc. He was quietly watching a movie on his tablet. The care for my son who was being seen was good, however my 9 year old was worried about his big brother and rightfully so. None of the male nurses cared that my youngest son came back to check on his brother, however, the triage woman nurse (who was very rude) and the nurse manager was adamant about my youngest not being back in the room, even making the excuse as to covid and things of that nature which was hilarious to me seeing that I worked covid at Miami Valley Main Campus for 2 years. When I told the nurse manager that no one was there to watch my youngest, she rolled her eyes and walked out. My boyfriend was there but was getting ready to leave because he had to work was told by the same rude triage nurse that him and my youngest son had to go. I do not bring up race in situations but it seemed to be very racially motivated. Again, my youngest didn’t bother a soul so I do not understand the why behind it. I will be following up with patient care...
