Grocery Advantage is a cost plus 10% shopping experience. One should be able to save considerable money shopping there, all things being equal. But, they aren't equal. Many items are higher priced than WalMart or Piggly Wiggly. Why then shop this store?
The meat department is top notch. The quality of the beef is superior to most of the other food stores in the area. Beef prices are slightly lower, but, nothing to get excited about. It's all about the quality and variety of the products. The same holds true for chicken, pork, and turkey.
This store is well maintained. Clean and offensive odor free. Produce is generally fresh but, more expensive than other places. You get what you pay for in produce. There is no bakery or deli and pre-packaged items are limited in variety.
I am an olive lover. They have a great selection of olives. These generally sell for 50% to 25% less than elsewhere. There is a wide selection of condiments and dressings. I can always find Mexican cuisine products there. They are the real thing not American made knock offs. These products increase the flavor profile of any Mexican dish you might make. The same does not hold true for Asia products as they are limited.
This store is very handicap friendly. They have plenty of shopping scooters that are always fully charged and in proper working condition. They are not all banged up like other places. Never have I seen torn seat covers, broken plugs, and cracked or missing frame work. The baskets are secure. Most importantly, the scooters are absolutely clean.
What I like most is that the store is pleasant to shop at. It is quiet and without screaming children running wild and unsupervised. Other shoppers are helpful and not rude or critical should I slow down the pace or my scooter is blocking a product they need.
I never have problems bring my service dog in. Since she is tiny, she rides on the scooter. Of course, she has her "baby mat" to sit on for sanitary purposes. The staff are always on hand to assist with shopping.
I cannot say enough but shopping at Grocery Advantage. It's my...
Read moreIf you want to avoid the rush of Walmart come here. Some items are cheaper than what you'd find at Walmart, but most are the same price or more. Your canned goods, sodas, condiments, meats, dairy, frozen foods, are at a good price. Anything like cereal, nuts, candy, paper towels, toiletries, beauty products, batteries, will be cheaper at Walmart. This is just what I've observed from shopping there, maybe not all would agree. Their nut section is extremely limited, so this is not a good place to go to if you need that. Their candy is also extremely limited. They have a great frozen section, eggs, cheese, etc. They have popular items like Chobani yogurt for a GREAT price. Many different soda products, a lot of bottled water. Their chip section is solid. Overall a great place to shop. I often go there so I don't have to go to Walmart. They are also MUCH cheaper than Publix, but they don't have as good fresh foods as either Publix or Walmart. I give them a 5/5 because they are dependable, their customer service is great. One time I lost my keys in the parking lot and the manager plus an employee helped me search the store plus the parking lot until they were found....
