We are good bbq lovers and I love dry rub ribs great brisket. Even though it was not on our way we made the side trip to try out BBQ Haven due to the positive reviews. It was amazing and definitely worth our journey to get there. We were greeted by the proprietor, Brian Harris, who was beyond welcoming. We ordered ribs and brisket, and I honestly can’t say which was better. Both were perfectly seasoned, very lean, and smoked to perfection. I was unnecessarily worried that the three rib portion would leave me hungry, but they were so meaty that I couldn’t even finish the 3rd. Brian was kind enough to also fix us a sample of his pork, which was absolutely the best I have ever tasted (we even took some to go!). Next time I will definitely get his pork potato (they had sadly sold out of their potatoes😢).
The restaurant is very small with limited seating, so if there is a wait, just be patient and enjoy the anticipation. They also put a lot of time and care into the preparation, so you may wait a few minutes for your food, but again, so worth the wait! We spoke with Brian throughout the meal and were surprised to find out that today was his birthday and that he was only 25 (Happy Birthday!). His work ethic is apparent, and we know he is bound for great success. He is obviously a natural pit master since this was the best bbq we have tasted. I look forward to seeing him expand in the future and hope he will eventually open up in our hometown of Pensacola. In the interim, we will be making excuses to go back through Enterprise, AL to get...
Read moreWas visiting from out of state and heard about this place from a local friend. Thought BBQ sounded great so I decided to give it a try. Went in there at about 4PM on a Saturday wanting the 3 meat plate just to find out they were out of brisket. Okay, no big deal. Readjusted what I wanted and was told the pork belly burnt ends don't come with the 2 or 3 meat plates. Gave up on the plates and just got the 1/4lbs burnt ends, asked for a side of small green beans and was told they only come in a medium outside of the meals/plates. The cashier was super rude during this whole interaction despite having been told it was my first time in there (how would I know any of these oddly specific rules). Got my food and the pork was unbearably dry, not even the BBQ sauce at the table could save it. The green beans tasted exactly like the Great Value brand canned green beans and I could have made them (probably better) at my Airbnb. Had I known, that's what I would have done. Entirely disappointing and overall lackluster. I no longer trust my friend's judgment when it comes to good BBQ and will absolutely not be back on future visits. Absolutely terrible.
Also, a shout-out to the older gentleman in line before me who took his ribs back up and said "Can you get me some ribs that actually have meat on them?" You were right, sir. Those ribs were super bare, not meaty, and looked so...
Read moreFive stars just isn’t enough for this place. After moving here from Kansas City we tried all the barbecue places in Enterprise and Dothan and was extremely disappointed that no one down here was able to produce good barbecue. It was the thing I missed the most, we would order brisket from our favorite restaurant in Olathe Kansas, but it was costing me $50 a pound to have it delivered to Alabama. When BBQ Haven took over the Buttmans location we decided to give it a try. I put one bite of brisket in my mouth and turned to my wife and said “ this guy isn’t from around here, he actually knows what he is doing”. I can close my eyes and can imagine I’m back in Kansas eating at our favorite restaurant. The brisket is wonderful, the pulled pork melts in your mouth, the ribs are seasoned perfectly, and the sides are phenomenal. The family and staff are friendly, with Christian values, and Military appreciation. Thank you so much for establishing a great place to experience...
