Do NOT. I repeat Do NOT ship ART through this UPS store. I shipped a beautiful 19th C. Oil on canvas just cleaned and reconditioned. I used their pack and ship service. The person there who packed my artwork showed extreme incompetence. They put a protective box cutout directly against the painted canvas. However the box piece was smaller than the canvas so it was wrapped inside bubble applying pressure on the canvas ripping it in 3 spots. I called them to get an insurance quote and they said the UPS driver would come take it back the same way it came and through a evaluation process see if it’s worth the value and then DESTROY IT. What a joke. If you have fine art DO NOT USE THESE AMATEURS. Also, when they say “insured” it only means they will insure the price you paid for it. This piece even though bought for a few hundred is worth 5x that. So no way are they taking it to destroy it. So I have to pay to get it fixed. Not a happy customer. I’ve used UPS 300 times these past 2 years and never had an issue. Watch out for these small privately owned shops and do...
Read moreEDIT - I spoke with the owner of the location where I was dropping off a package today. He has been there for a long time, and I never actually realized he was the owner. He told me that the store should never be closed before the posted hours (He was never there during the times the door has been locked early), and that he had addressed it.
Thank you for your help! This location is generally a great place to buy UPS postage and do drop-offs/returns.
I’ve come around 6:00-6:15 PM three times in the past month, and the door was already locked with employees standing inside. It is unacceptable in the shipping industry to close your doors while you’re stated to be open. This negatively affects my business as well as my customers who are expecting to receive products by a certain cut off date. I typically enjoy this location, but until this nonsense stops my review will stay the same. Change your business hours If you are unable to accommodate your current stated hours or stay open until closing time. It’s really...
Read moreSo I am wildly confused. I ship Ceramics and antiques all over the country. I recently moved to Ephrata, and took in a box for shipping that contained a piece of pottery. It is double boxed with plenty of packing materials, including fragile stickers in red. When I dropped it off, the person behind the register told me that it is better to not put fragile on because they will treat it worse because it says fragile. I thought she was joking, so I laughed, but then she didn't say anything. I responded to her "wait are you joking?" to which she replies "no, it is like a little game for them" while giggling.
Why would I ever ship with UPS at this location ever again? When I am being openly told by an employee that UPS doesn't value a customer's property and purposely tries to damage fragile items??? What kind of business is this and why would anyone think that is acceptable? Hopefully someone looks into this, because that is wildly unacceptable and not fair to customers who pay...
