New Jade House — Restaurant in Ephrata

This is an average American-Chinese restaurant. It's the same menu that a thousand other strip mall Chinese restaurants have. The food is adequate, the price is shockingly low, and the building is run down. The ceiling is gray from vents that haven't been cleaned in 10 years, there's a handwritten sign on one of the tables telling you not to sit there because it's broken, the curtains have never been washed since they were hung a decade ago. The teenaged child of the owners is running the counter, while one of their older relatives cooks in the galley kitchen. If the restaurant was scrubbed from top to bottom I would eat here regularly, as it is, I won't come back unless I'm stranded in the parking lot around lunch time. me and my wife and daughter came in for a dine in at 6pm on a Monday. The restaurant looked really busy, the dining area was nice and cool as we noticed they had the ac on, when we ordered our food it came out in 10 minutes even though they looked super busy, the food was cooked nicely, it was perfectly warm and hot, the atmosphere wasn’t too loud and quiet enough which my wife liked a lot. The best Chinese restaurant in Ephrata!! the food price is much cheaper than any other restaurant I ever been too especially China Taste, the food was still warm when me and my husband arrived home. The service was any normal service you get, the front desk lady was super sweet she saw I had my two kids with me and my husband and gave us free fortune cookies and toys they were selling!! the atmosphere was pretty nice, they had the ac on a hot day and the cold air was so refreshing!
