I went to U3 for a shake after yoga on October 5th, the day before their grand opening. I ordered a banana caramel shake and an apple chai tea. I asked the owner if they used dairy tom make the shakes and she said, "no, just water," That was not the case. Twenty minutes later I had to stop by my fiance's job because I was in so much pain I wasn't going to be able to make it to work. I scanned the QR code on the back of the menu that I took from the cafe and was brought to the owners MLM website. The shakes are made from a MLM protein powder that I have a known allergy to. If I had realized these products were being used, I would have figured out something else to order or found somewhere else to eat all together. I messaged U3 on Instagram and was told that they would make signs about food allergies to post on the their counter. I asked for an ingredients list twice and was not given one. I also couldn't find an ingredients list for the powder used in my shakeron the MLM website itself. The fact that the marketing message is about weight loss is very apparent in their decor choices as well as their words. When I followed the account on Instagram initially I was sent an auto reply that talked about U3 serving guilt free food. I let U3 know that this type of wording can be very triggering to people with eating disorders. There is also a mirror and a scale for customers to weigh themselves positioned in the corner of the cafe. Seeing a scale while you're ordering your meal may not be the best way to make people feel at home in your space. I won't be going back there because I'm allergic to everything on the menu since it all has that MLM protein powder in it. I'll stick to making my own smoothies at home with real fruits and vegetables rather than fishing around on the Internet for a list of processed ingredients that...
