I would recommend that no one EVER visit this location- if you’re a female. I watched whoever was working at the time, bend over backwards for ever patron (who were all male) and even help bilingually. I thought, “wow, that’s a pretty awesome employee and person”. Until, my boyfriend- I ahead of him- reached the counter. I was immediately asked what I need, instead of how can I help you. She was only further visibly and physically more angered when I gave her a membership phone number. She began to belittle my past choices in games and then REFUSED to take any of my trade ins. Her reasoning of refusal made sense in theory, but was ultimately down right ridiculous, and very obviously, subjective, and a show of her very small extension of power. She even asked someone- who was an employee off duty in store, what they thought about the trade in games. They shrugged in matter of “you’re being petty, but I guess”, when she tried to justify her decisions toward me. Shrugged. She couldn’t have cared less. Point being, my appearance clearly upset or threatened this employee to the extent that she caused me to refuse to spend money on games from her. And, it wasn’t about money for the games I wanted to trade in- it was down to courtesy- which she didn’t seem to care about, regardless of these stack of games I wanted to purchase as well. This branch, if that’s how you choose employees- won’t see longevity. Bias, comes in many forms. I was laughing later that day, in the factual notion that it could manifest in a situation of gaming. Shame on her. GameStop- you’ve always treated me very well until I met her. I think you’d agree, no one should be judged in...
Read moreI am very disappointed by lack of customer service at this location. I purchased a pre-owned Xbox1 game from this location and was not happy with it. I called this store and asked what the return policy was and was told that within 30 days I could exchange a used game for store credit. I repeated that back and verified what he was telling me because I was surprised.
I went into another shop today to exchange the game I had inquired about and was told that it is a hard 7 say cutoff. I called this location where I had purchased and talked to the store manager who said his name was Cody.
I explained what I was told and he just kept saying that he couldn't help me. I told him I understood what the policy was but that I was told something different and expected them to stand by what I was told.
He said, "Sir, I could also call stores and say that they told me something." He essentially accused me of lying.
If this was truly the manager, I am shocked that someone would put this person in charge of this location.
I work in retail and I expect better customer service from my trainees on literally their first day.
I will not be buying any consoles or games from this location.
To be clear, I wanted to exchange my $20 game for another $20 game, costing the store absolutely nothing.
Tldr: was told exchange policy was 30 days and the store manager accused me of lying and...
Read moreThe reason why I’m giving this location 1 star is because I was about to purchase two games: Sonic Frontier for the PS5 & Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader for the Nintendo Switch. When I was about to checkout, I noticed one of the cases was broken. I asked the guy if I could switch the case for one that wasn’t broken and for some reason he said no. If I’m going to buy something, I’m not going to buy something that is broken. I don’t see what the big deal or why he couldn’t give me a case that wasn’t broken but he refused. I walked away and didn’t purchase anything. I wish I would have asked for the guy’s name but this happened today (06/24/2023) around 7pm. He was the only employee working at the time. I’ve been buying from GameStop ever since I was little and that’s just bad...
