Pablo at the Pro Desk treated me so nicely just a moment ago when I got off the phone with him that I knew it was about time I wrote this review. I’ve been coming to this Home Depot ever since my family and I moved. At first, it was just for odds and ends: nuts, bolts, the occasional broken door hinge. But as I got serious about a career in the trades, this store became something more. I started picking up drill bits, batteries, and power tools. I even grabbed a Milwaukee Packout backpack, though from the East Valley Parkway location. Have I bought some duds here? Sure. But that’s not on this Home Depot location, it’s just how things go. I got some rubber knee pads that broke, so I found better ones elsewhere. But overall, Home Depot has everything a tradesman needs. Some Husky-branded stuff isn’t the greatest, but Rigid power tools? Incredible. When you buy them on sale, they’re nearly the same price as Ryobi, but with a reputation that holds up among pros. And while I have nothing bad to say about Ryobi, used it in my late teens and early twenties, Rigid is on another level. The warranty on Rigid is to die for. What really sets this Home Depot apart is the people. When I needed over 50 bags of mulch for a project at my parents’ house a year and a half ago, the team knocked it out with curbside pickup. Of course, I helped load it into my car, leaving it all to them would’ve been just plain wrong. But the fact that they handled it so smoothly made all the difference. With every visit, there’s someone willing to help, and that means something. At the end of the day, it’s a Home Depot, a hardware store, but for someone building a future in the trades, it’s more than that. It’s a place where the return on investment is real. Every tool here is a stepping stone to a career, whether it’s electrical, plumbing, HVAC, framing, roofing, or something else. I used to see Home Depot as just another store. Now, I see it like an Office Depot for tradesmen, a place where you don’t just buy things, you invest in your future. And this location? They make that investment worth it. FWI, with a pro account you can place orders on the phone.

I needed a certain size screw by width and length to complete my project of swapping out the old ugly bathroom drawer and cabinet knobs with new turtle design ones. I walked into Home Depot the day after Christmas and walked right up to Michael. He helped me find the perfect replacement screws to complete my project. And he managed to help me get in and out of the store in under 15 minutes. He was super helpful and knowledgeable about how to get my project going again. Perfect! Great store associate.

Inventory. Prices. Selection. All things that the staff doesn’t control. Their advice. Attitude. And so forth are controllable. And I want to recognize Angie on the floor. So glad she came back to this store. She’s always helpful and her attitude is zen like. Also want to say thanks to Veronica in returns. Not an easy job and she helps makes that part of the customer experience pleasant. Kids love the workshop and I get slot of honey do’s completed partnering with the Home Depot.

Today September 18 I didn't had much time and needed paint color matched. I chose this Home Depot knowing that I alway received quick friendly service at the north Oceanside store.

I was so wrong....

I arrived at the store at 4:45 pm Joshua was by himself helping only one customer at that time. I was nicely surprised that Joshua acknowledge me right away and told me it will be just a minute. During that time another customer came with a question and Joshua started helping that customers. After about 10 min. when he help the costumer that came after me final it was my turn. I give him my color sample I needed color match and told him that I need a quart of exterior flat paint. He took the sample and told me it will take about 15 min. and walked away to help other customers that came.

Since I knew my can of paint will be ready in 15 min. I decided to look around the store to find material I needed for my project.

I came back in 15 min. And as I was walking back to paint mixing station Joshua was walking out, when he got close to be he asked me if I wanted the paint in a quart.

I responded to him yes and as I was going to ask him is it ready I realized he was going to get that quart of paint for me now....

At that point I was not to happy that one minute went to ten, other people that came after me where helped and gone and my paint was not ready.

By the time I got back there was one more employees helping other customers. By the time my paint was opened to put paint in Joshua decided to help another customer.

After the paint was mixed and waiting to be removed from the mixer Joshua already helped two other customers.

Paint was put on a color sample I provided and it was a total different color Joshua decided to add more red paint.

After the paint was mixed and waiting for him again and at last one or two more customers where helped and gone he opened the can to find the paint is not near the color of the sample he decided to at this time three different colors. Paint was mixed sitting in a mixer I'm waiting and again not near the color of sample. More paint put in mixed seating wating in paint mixer and I'm ruining out of patience and Joshua decides to get in a middle of the other employees and unhappy customer that had a paint mixed earlier today by him and custumer came back with her painter because it was not matching. She was looking at color samples at the one of the displays hopping to find a close color to to the one it was mixed. A that point I last my patience took my color sample left all the other products I was going to buy and walked out of that store empty handed and last over a hour of my valuable time promising myself to share this with other people and thinking about getting paint color much done...

Terrible customer service in returns at this store! We bought over 500 plants to landscape 5 acres some of which were clearance because we were told if they died they were guaranteed since we got so many plants. We were able to restore 90 per cent of them but upon returning the 35 or so, some of which were NOT cleatance, this angry woman tried to take the guy behind us first when she saw our full basket. The other customer said we were there first so the angry lady employee never even said hello or boo. Instead she called garden to make us wait so she didnt have to deal with it. Then very rudely asked questions and treated us as if we were somehow trying to scam by returning dead plants and it was very embarrassing. We had receipts and common sense would dictate why would we even bother packing up all these dead plants if we were not told we could return them? But she was so disrespectful in how she dealt with it. After waiting, garden finally came and explained clearance cant be returned and left. So I politely asked for the manager but decided it wasnt worth arguing about so I told her to never mind. She rudely moved on to helping someone else and the line had grown long so frustrated I said Id be back and went to grab what I came for and cool off before I said something that wasnt nice. When I returned to finish returning the non clearance plants, she rudely said she had all that trash thrown away. I couldnt believe it! Another person who worked with her felt bad and said she'd go look to see if she could find it and bring it back. She came back but it had already been thrown away. So I was out about 40 bucks in non clearance plants plus about 30 containers of good soil I could have reused. When I told the manager, he just apologized for her after spending ten minutes hearing her out first. It was not a good experience. Needless to say we will not be going there for the rest of our landscaping needs. We will be going directly to Altmans Nursery where Home Depot buys from. And I do set design for film and TV so my commercial accounts will not be going back there either. But it was my stupid mistake for not taking the time to do my research first being new to this area and for believing an employee who works on the floor when making a large purchase. Im sure it is not uncommon that they know all of home...

They have a bunch of stuff and you'll wind up wandering around buying a bunch of stuff you probably didn't think you need but once you saw it you're like dang it I need those screws or bolts. It's almost as bad as a couple other places for guys if you start losing your path of travel on exactly what you need and start randomly wandering around. Not to say women or any worse but a guy can definitely do some damage in there without any type of discipline or guidance. They always have a lot of stuff. Even the young ones can look stuff up and find what you need to get you close but every so often you can snag that old timer that they always keep plenty of around that is done a lot and knows just about everything and you can answer all your questions and guide you to the exact parts you need that you didn't even know you needed at the time. That's value to me you got to have those old timers that know what they're doing as well as the Young bucks that can do all the heavy lifting but there's no price that you can put on life experienceso having that knowledge and those type of people around to help when I'm in the middle of a project and don't know what to do next has basically become invaluable to me at times. I really hope home Depot keeps this mentality and misunderstanding and always has that type of person around instead of trying to get the cheapest or the newest or whatever because being able to have that resource there when you're doing something you've never done before don't know what part you need can just save so much aggravation and frustration it pays for itself in gold. Are elder generation has so much knowledge and in that type of trade industries more than I think any of the latest generations have so being able to pass that information on whether I think they're getting not paid enough versus at least having an opportunity to keep employed if they need with an understanding they're the brain is really awesomecherish the input from these guys and I'm 52 and I've done a lot of construction stuff but there's always stuff I haven't done and I know I can always go there and find at least one person that's experienced enough and whatever field I'm working in to give me the right beginning information and can get me started in the...
