Called to ask if they purchase from local people, they flatly said no not at all.
What's the point of a local rock shop if it is only showing you varieties from afar? I thought they (rockshops) were to make the local gems and minerals the stars; when I offered richardson uncut thundereggs from the opal bed, they refused and said they really never buy rocks at all.
Not sure why the entire time I've been into rockhounding (10 years plus) the tale is to contact local rockshops to sell things, and apparently this is only an old wives tale; because the person over the phone said that was never the case for their store. It left a sour taste in my mouth is all.

Our few hour conversation was one of the best conversations I have ever had. His openness, ability to listen and be genuine plus his strong communication skills truly shows. I am very glad I was able to stop by and learn about him, myself and the world as a whole. I am so thankful for the time I had at 5 Elements Gem & Mineral and will most definitely be back :)
To add he does have a shop cat who is...
