I've had good experiences here but recently I took my two young children and PSA dog (without a vest as we did not expect to need it on a spur of the moment visit). I was confronted before the door had closed behind us that pets were not allowed. After I informed staff of his purpose I was lectured on requirements for a service animal in front of other customers, and decided to leave immediately. I did not expect to have to produce documentation or proof, as no other business has confronted us in such a manner.

I detest leaving negative reviews for local businesses but this experience made me feel wholly unwelcome, unwanted, and uncomfortable. What was supposed to be a family adventure to support a local business turned into an embarrassing, disappointing experience for me and my child.

Been wanting to visit Eugene Toy and Hobby for months and finally was able to get down there with the family so we could pick up some RC cars. They had a great selection and a very helpful (and knowledgeable!) staff member that assisted us picking them out. He also went over some important basics that were very much appreciated since I was getting back into the hobby after many, many years (I had kits you had to assemble and ni-cad because that’s all that was available). Online shopping is great and all, but there is no replacement for someone that can assist like that. We got home, charged up, and took em for a rip at our local park having a an absolute blast.
