I went to the Aug. 10 matinee of the Music Man, with my 81 year old mother and my sister. The performance was marvelous, especially William Huling. Unfortunately, at the intermission, James Ralph stomped down the aisle and accused us of taking pictures and that we would be thrown out. We were shocked, and traumatized, and also highly offended. A trip to the Hult Center should be a treat, not an ordeal, especially for an older woman with CPD (a breathing disorder) on her birthday. This was a terrible experience and Mr. Ralph showed no contrition, but simply a desire to throw us out. And of course, we weren't taking pictures. We could not stay, waiting for James Ralph to attack us again. The Hult Center staff behaved very well, providing us with a refund. The Shedd, abominably. Read moreThe Shed institute is the best theater. It has very comfortable seats and has a huge stage. I went to the Matt Kearney concert there and had a great time. It's really hot in there with the seats because I dressed very warmly. I would advise not dressing warmly. It seats a lot of people and easy to find rows. There is paid parking nearby about a block or 2 away and also some parking very close. It has a very nice waiting area where they offer free drinks. Read more5 star venue AND STAFF - ZERO STARS FOR FOUNDER TREATMENT OF HOMELESS It is sad that this wonderful venue with hard working staff and supporters was co-founded by people are so uptight that a homeless day shelter is what the founders have time to get VETOED because it is too close to their venue. So I now protest in my tent in the snow that many will not fare as well as I do at 52. Many fall short of staying safe in this type of weather.
