I wasn’t sure if this was a self-service restaurant because I noticed a bussing cart behind where I was sitting stacked full of dirty dishes and discarded food. It was really close to my chair where I hung my raincoat and some of the dirty dishes touched my raincoat and I was totally unaware of it until I got up to leave. It was a disgusting sight to see all the piles of dishes just as we were leaving. It would have been best if that was put away somewhere else where people are not dining.
I shared a non-vegetable thali with my boyfriend. It’s definitely more than enough for two light-eaters. The butter chicken is so rich and creamy! It was worth it just for the butter chicken alone. The other chicken curry on the thali was very salty and we ended up eating only a few bites of that. The samosa was standard. The dessert was delicious, but we were too full to finish it.

This long-running, multi-generational family establishment plates absolutely delectable North Indian (specifically Punjabi) specialties. One could write a PhD thesis on the molecular complexities of their scrumptious Masala or Saag bases - my two personal favorites - which can be enjoyed in vegetarian or non-veg varieties. I also love a good dunk of crispy Pakora in their creamy, tangy, oh-so-refreshing Raita to cleanse the palette after an extra spicy bite of the former dishes.
The family is so friendly and warm - and their food so mind-bendingly delicious - that they helped inspire me to visit India (including Punjab). Literally, they’re connecting me with their relatives there.
