I make vegetables most of my diet, and this is Possibly the best produce in town. And it’s the same price as the mediocre megafarm organic stuff at Safeway or Whole Foods, while fresher and better tasting from local farmers who know what they are doing.
If you catch the older woman (Penny?) she not only knows which farm different vegetables came from, but the farmers’ names and often knows their background and farming practices.
They have all kinds of flours and grains, local free range meAts (frozen), fermented foods, and stock Nancy’s dairy products as well.
It’s about as feel-good as not growing it yourself can get. Like having the farmer’s market five days a week. Eugene is so lucky to have this place.
