I saw an advertisement that they were looking for jeans. I took my 60+ jeans up there. They kept three. All brand named some Not, and have not even been used and they kept the none non-name brand ones? I Wondered why they only accepted three when I went over to look and most of the sizes that I was trying to give them they didn’t have hardly any in that size so I was very confused as why they wouldn’t want more jeans. The girls that had noticed me when we first got there and cut me prior, were up there and got $30 for two pairs of jeans and I think maybe a shirt. The three pairs of jeans that I had told them they could keep and exchange for money. I saw the two tags that they were going to put them on sale for 20 and $15. They gave me $13 for those three pair. They are basing their fashion sense on teenagers picking and their ability to sell name brand gently worn clothing, but the clothes in there look goodwill and the name brand was over priced used looking. The girl that helped me knew the other girls and definitely gave them a deal . I don’t understand how they can with a clear conscious Stand there And tell others that their clothes are slightly worn so they cannot take them or they’re not in season. I noticed a lot of stuff was very worn and dated my stuff had tags some more cashmere sweaters. My kid came back from trying on some things while we were waiting. They chose one pair of hollister jeans and three shirts. These were not name brand shirts. It rang up $80. The Guy that checked me out, said that they had some sort of sale and gave me $10 off. So in reality, it would’ve been 90$ dollars for three shirts and one pair of jeans I told her since it was School this would be the only time we would be doing this uptown cheapskate looking for jeans thing, next time we will go to the outlets. We have used uptown in the past and I just feel the same as when we go to kid to kid no one’s friendly no one’s happy they all look exhausted and crabby....
Read moreWent in a dressing room and was informed to leave the basket in hallway, but I could take 6 items in at a time. I put 2 sets of 6 clothing groups rolled up neatly on the floor by the dressing room door, so I can swap out 6 for 6. While changing an employee stated, “ you have the clothes on the floor, are any of these even “nos”?” I stated from the dressing room, “no”. She then in return went to the dressing desk where the other employee was that was monitoring the dressing rooms and made several rude comments. I came out of the dressing room and asked the dressing room monitor who said what I heard and she stated it was an empoyee named “Trina”. I went up to the front desk and complained and whoever the lady was at the front desk stated that the clothes are supposed to be held by the dressing room monitor and then you are supposed to come back out to exchange clothes with the clothing monitor. Honestly thats the most stupidest thing I have ever heard. I have been going to uptown cheapskate for years and never heard of anything so stupid. They don’t even have anything to write on to even keep people items separated. EVERYONES basket is near their dressing room door. I told her that even sounded ridiculous. You have men and women sharing the same dressing room and the most sane thing to do is at-least have the clothes where you can grab them so you wont potentially expose yourself. The easiest thing to do is to lay them neatly near the door where you can grab and swap.
If you have a business that you want to keep going you need to hire employees that actually like to work with people, and not people who think its okay to humiliate, talk about, or giggle about people while they are in the dressing room. Do better Evans Uptown Cheapskate. Trina needs to leave her home problems at home and not bring them to work. This is the first time I have been to this location...
Read moreUpdate: 8/24/24 tried going here one more time (mainly to use a return credit I had) the “brands we love” section, that used to be name brand items, is filled with Walmart & SHEIN. The SHEIN items are HIGHER than online and the USED WALMART items are $1-3 cheaper than new!!! I found an aerie crop zip up hoodie (retails for $19.20) that was $17.99 and had a huge hole!!! I used my credit, came home and had to sew the hole. Unfortunately this will be my final visit. Greed took over with this place and you can definitely see that in the absurd pricing and extremely low quality.
Last year I heard the owner speaking about the boutique across the street (Apricot Lane) and how expensive they are, and how she knows how much they pay because she can order from the same vendors. I hope she is reading this and realizes a SEVEN PERCENT lower price than retail for USED ITEMS WITH HOLES is absolutely unacceptable. At least Apricot Lane has quality items!!!
Also, they enter you into a $100 gift card drawing for leaving a review, pretty sure that’s why there are good reviews. Because when I actually speak to real people they all say the same things as I’ve said.
Because this store literally pays you NOTHING for items everyone has started using FB marketplace for selling name brands like Abercrombie, free people, lululemon, etc. so this store is literally 75% SHEIN, old navy, target (and a lot of it is more $ than retail, especially stuff from SHEIN). If they would pay a little more they would have quality...
