I can't believe that this wonderful little place has been around the corner and I had somehow missed it for so long! The atmosphere is lovely, whether inside or out. The waitstaff is just the right amount of attentive, without being overbearing. The food, however, is the real calling card. The sushi is always fresh and flavorful, with daily specials. I like to start out with a refreshing lychee martini (typically, I only manage to drink half of it because everyone at the table wants a "sip") to go with the comped seaweed tempura. The seaweed salad is crunchy and tastes freshly made, unlike some of the occasionally slimy ones I have had elsewhere. Among the appetizers, I have greatly and always enjoyed the gomaae, gyoza, sunny side shiitake, wasabi shumai and, especially, the tuna tartare. I typically get the rainbow specialty roll, the spider roll, kampyo roll and/or a yellowtail and scallion roll and they have never disappointed; to the contrary, they are always fresh and delicious. What I especially like about the yellowtail roll is that the tuna is not chopped. In short, a lovely restaurant and true...
Read moreDragon Maki, Rainbow Maki and salmon spring roll were all good. Portion sizes for the rolls were small (as expected based on other reviews) but everything seemed fresh and I got hardly any bones in the unagi on the dragon roll (- that's always a plus when you order a dragon roll). The portion size of the salmon spring rolls was good and also crunchy. A mini miso soup came with something I ordered I guess. It was hot to the touch and a mild spicy. I don't often eat spicy foods but it was pretty good. Service was very fast- though I went on a Fri afternoon at the beginning of the shift. My order was carry-out but the inside seemed nice, clean and big. I also liked the packaging for my takeout- I thought it was eco-friendly. Staff was very attentive to me. I walked to the Evanston location from maybe 5-10 mins away,...

If their clientele will continue to patronize them with their prices being so much higher than other quality competitors in the area, good for them. But they’ve gotten too rich for my blood. It’s just too poor a value at this point.
For context, a spicy salmon roll with avocado and a white dragon, one regular roll and one signature roll, come...
