I met the most pleasant lady who assisted me perfectly to create the wonderful $andwich I had, wow! Who would of thought a turkey $andwich could taste the way this one did. First off the selection of fresh bread to choose from mesmerize you from the fresh $mells but the Popeye bread was my choice and ohh was it a choice. The turkey was tinder and moist, nice $lice of provolone cheese, crispy lettuce, a nice amount of mustard (no too much that’s overwhelming or too little with no taste) and the recommendation to try the pickled onions was probably better decision than the Popeye bread. Must have again, lol but Ms Kate was the most pleasant person and her recommendation are truly the most tasteful will be back for more!

Some places have poor customer service. The service here is belligerent. The guy behind the counter who said he wasn't the owner (who actually was) was very rude and almost abusive. What happened to this place? It used to be friendly, a bright spot in the neighborhood. The breakfast sandwich I had was good, but I will not go back. It is the only place I've left feeling degraded. And I noticed the owner treated his workers the same way. They seemed to be surviving despite the oppressive atmosphere. If you live in north Evanston and think this place is the only option, look around: you've got Tag's and Foodstuffs down the street, Whole Foods on Greenbay, and Hewn a few miles away. Go there instead.

Worked at this location starting April 15 2020. Owner was very pleasant and friendly at the time. As the months went along he started treating me very disrespectfully along with certain customers. Very aggressive and rude. Sandwiches are overpriced, shop is incredibly dirty as well in the back where food is made. Cut myself a couple of times and owner didn’t have a first aid kit. Owner fired me when I texted him and told him I wouldn’t be able to come to work for two days because I needed to register for college classes. Called me a scumbag and other rude names.

TLDR, owner is a douche, food is average. DO NOT GO HERE. I went to order and pickup a sandwich for my wife. Upon arrival the man ignored me, completely empty place fyi. Decided to check out the scones in the corner, they did not look good. As I was heading to the sandwich counter, the owner, standoff-ishly and rudely yelled What Do You Want?! Confused bc I have never been talked to this way in a bakery, replied I want to order a sandwich. He rudely turned away like he had something better to do as if I were interrupting him in some way. The other gentleman was easy to deal with and promptly made my sandwich. The vibe was so off I immediately looked up the reviews and, to no surprise, realized this owner is a major douchebag and should not be dealing with the public. When my food was ready I headed to the counter to pay. He didn't say a word as we awkwardly just stood there. After 30 seconds of just staring I said, "umm , I'd like to pay". After our transaction he sarcastically said, "have a wonderful day". DO NOT GO HERE! Better bread at other spots nearby that actually want...

was going to Backlot coffee but their line is always out the door and its not THAT good. so we were down to try another spot. popped into great harvest and WOW!!!!!!! amazing kind employees who had calming kind energy. they had delicious samples out. i can’t even begin to explain how much i enjoyed my sandwich. i got the chipotle turkey and it might just be the best sandwich i’ve had. EVER! in my life!!!! it took a bit of waiting, but that just tells me they aren’t keeping premade sandwiches in a refrigerator, they are truly stacking and creating these marvelous sammy’s! they grill it , gosh i don’t even know where to begin with this incredible sandwich. ive already planned to go tomorrow to get a pumpkin scone and dakota loaf-their pastries and loaves all looked remarkable, they have creative funky fresh flavors and that are all perfectly executed. amazing cool crew of employees and customers. i cannot wait to come back this is my new favorite spot in the...

I'm so happy Great Harvest is at the helm of a wonderful new owner! Good luck Kate! I've been coming for years and the old owner was not warm or welcoming and the product inconsistent. I CAN'T figure out the few bad reviews. Maybe they are not used to fresh ground in house flour and healthy, quality ingredients. Some bakeries add dough conditioners, hydrogenated oils and more to make a softer moister product. But if you are looking for highest quality, natural breads & desserts, this is the best. Free samples! The basic honey Whole Wheat is always moist and flavorful. They have a low carb Dakota Bread that's whole grain and yummy and when you want to splurge, indulge on the Apple Scrapple! (worth an extra work out !) I've never had scones, which is what some bad reviews were about, but read all the 5 star reviews instead! In fact, you should ADD a 5 star review to try to battle this lower rating from the...
