I and a friend of mine have been going to this store for quite a while when we have nothing better to do. Iâve never had an issue with them, until today. The store is fine, itâs happens to be the worker as Iâm now realizing while going through the reviews, and with what happened really rubbed me the wrong way to not want to shop there again.
I and a friend gathered some items and popped in the check out line, we were the only two checking out. The worker was a woman probably in her 50-60s, not sure but it looked to be as she was old. As my friend checked out first, the worker said hi and asked if my friend would like a bag, my friend said yes; her stuff was wrapped and bagged as it shouldâve been. My friend payed, grabbed her receipt, and stayed on the side and waited for me.
I scooted my items ahead and the worker started checking my items out, in no regards did this lady greet me or even ask me for a bag. This women scooted my items towards me and stared at me in what Iâm thinking she expected me to carry them in hand, almost as if me and my friend didnât have the same items that she had just recently checked out and placed nicely away for my friend, the only difference was we were paying separate. (The cashier had many bags on the side of her as I should add)
Just a reminder it was just my friend and I in line, we both happened to have the exact same items, my friend does appear to be white and I am colored. My friend asked if I wanted to place my items in her bag to make things easier.
Not to make it exaggerated but I think it speaks volume when it comes to others actions for how theyâll treat someone else perfectly fine just for you get treated differently.
Me and my friend had a conversation about this and she as well think itâs absurd, a lot of audacity for a situation that just happened.. happen.
I HOPE these employees do not think theyâre any- to say the LEAST better than anyone(customers) who walks in this store to what these employees should have hope in expectancy that the people who come in will spend their money on the stores products, and have no right to judge anyone especially in the position theyâre in working in retail store, (pettiness) especially being passed the middle age and being Christian(since majority are nice and lovely).
I walked out and didnât press the issue because I know better rather than to stoop low because I know I have better things to attend to but I guess you canât always have expectancy towards others who should know better let alone a grown adult or should I say a senior.
Check the ratings of any place you wanna go to. So unless you want unexpected rudeness and (what I got from the reviews) unhelpful people who happen to have the title of âemployeesâ but donât act upon it as well as be followed around. Be...

I had an incredibly negative experience at this store, starting as soon as I walked in. Kaylee G, a cashier, was dismissive and rude when I asked where the watercolor paints were. She laughed, rolled her eyes, and pointed me in the wrong direction. As I walked away, I overheard her and a coworker laughing and talking about me. It was uncomfortable, to say the least.
Things got worse from there. After I started looking through the watercolor paints, I noticed I was being followed by about six employees who were clearly watching my every move. I kept my cool and put my headphones in my ear and back in my purse, minding my own business. Despite my calm behavior and the fact that I had nothing to hide, Becky, the manager, aggressively and up to me and took all of my items out of my hands, accusing me of stealing. She claimed I had taken something and put it in my purse, which was absolutely false.
I even opened every pocket in my purse to show her that I was not hiding anything, but instead of apologizing or acknowledging that I was innocent, or leaving me be, she publicly humiliated me in front of customers and other staff. It was disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional. I wasnât done shopping.
This experience was not only embarrassing but deeply upsetting. No one should be treated that way, especially when theyâve done nothing wrong. I will never return to this store, and as a final note, my uncle is a highly respected lawyer in the area, so I will be consulting him about the incident. Beckyâs actions and Kayleeâs immature behavior were completely out of line, and I intend to ensure that this matter is properly addressed.
If you value respect and customer service, I strongly recommend avoiding this place.
Also, everything is a different price, itâs confusing. Donât support this store, you can buy better quality items for cheaper online! And you wonât get treated like a criminal!
I will be returning my items and getting...
Read moreUpdate: 3/13/21 My last few visits to Hobby Lobby have been somewhat disappointing. I wasn't happy when they announced that the 40% off discount coupon would cease at the end of February. The clearance section has been sparse; there's a lot of vacant shelf space to stare at now. My biggest issue is the yarn section. I needed one skein of yarn to complete a project that I'd been working on. I went into Hobby Lobby several times a week for about two months, and the yarn I needed was never re-stocked. I tried to see about when an order might be shipped, but never could get a concrete answer. Asking if they had it in their back inventory yielded nothing: "if it's not on the shelf or on very top shelf, we don't have any." It wasn't just the yarn I needed for my project: many of the other types of yarn that I would have purchased were low on stock. Consistently. Familiar brands like Red Heart and Lion Brand aren't found here. Most of the brands they are carrying are brands I've not heard of. I gave it a shot and found the yarn incredibly difficult to work with. I wondered if it was just me. It wasn't. I looked for reviews of these brands, and they are not given good ratings. Other aspects of Hobby Lobby are awesome! But for knitters and crocheters.... Not so much.
Hobby Lobby... I really need to stay out of this place because I tend to want everything I see! No matter how you like to create, Hobby Lobby is probably going to have the materials you need for any project. They currently have in-store shopping. This time of year, the store is usually packed, but there was very little wait time when I went to the register on my last two visits. Don't forget to bring up the hobby lobby website on your phone to get the 40% off discount coupon that they will scan at the register. Masks...
