I found 5 Rivers around early 2020 just before COVID began to affect businesses among other things. I had just moved to the Everett area in 10/2019 from North Seattle. My favorite Indian/Mediterranean restaurant that I frequented before the move was the Saffron Grill near Northwest Hospital. I was sure that I wouldn't find an Indian restaurant that could rival Saffron. But that changed when I was forced to use Uber eats in place of eating out. After trying many other Indian spots, I found 5 Rivers and it immediately became one of my favorites from Uber eats and take out. I can't recommend in good conscience any other Indian restaurant in he Everett area. I can't get over their butter masala with paneer or chicken. Definitely can't have that without their garlic or paneer naan. If I'm feeling it, I will also get the tandoori paneer. Tender pieces of flavorful paneer and fresh cucumber with rice. Its almost a meal by itself. I should add that I can't rate their "atmosphere", since I haven't been able to dine in their establishment; only pick-up or Uber eats. Even though the COVID restrictions aren't in place anymore, I am still unable to dine-in due to renovations. The other night my gf and I attempted to dine in. We were greeted promptly by a younger man and told that the dining area is still under construction. We ordered take out instead and conversed with him as he explained the events that still haven't allowed patrons to dine in. Fire, water damage, and sheer bad luck have prevented anyone from a dining experience. We were told that perhaps dining in will be possible early next year. My advice to 5 Rivers is to update their website since it still says to call before arriving with a party of 5 or more. My advice to potential guests is that you must try this place if you haven't had excellent Indian cuisine. Or don't. Because you won't want to go any where else once you do. I have no problem ordering take out for now. Myself and many others await for the day we can sit and eat in their...
Read moreThis is now my favorite Indian food restaurant! I rank in the top 10% of Google reviewers for Indian food restaurants, so you could say that I've been to more than a few.The food is incredibly good, it's got a very authentic flavor and I can tell they're using quality ingredients. My favorite is the Shahi Korma. I also get their garlic naan, they typically use a garlic powder on this, but I always ask for fresh garlic and they're happy to make it how I like. The portions are quite large here, so there's definitely enough food for two meals in each order.
What I admire most about 5 Rivers Indian Cuisine, is that it is family owned and operated. I see this as a key to success in the restaurant industry, because all the employees have a stake in the success of the business. The father is an excellent chef, he's always smiling and very friendly. I can tell he's living a life long dream here and he puts his all into cooking the best food possible. Mom is usually buzzing around doing various tasks, but she always has time to stop, say high to me, ask how I've been and thank me for coming in. The eldest son is the manager, I usually find him working at the front desk as the host, answering phones and taking orders. We usually strike up a conversation and chat while I wait for my food. Sometimes during the summer you'll even see the youngest son hanging out and helping where he can.
All around this is a great restaurant and I encourage you to give them your business! I sincerely wish for them to have a long...
Read moreThis restaurant was a delightful surprise and has easily earned the TOP Spot on my Indian Cuisine list. Let's just say best in Snohomish County and In Everett.
5 Rivers is located on Hyw 99. It's a bit tricky to get to but once you find it and enter the restaurant you will be in for a complete treat!
Quick Pros: The food is absolutely delicious, Customizable Spice Levels from 1 to 6 being the highest, extremely wonderful owners, and very affordable. Highly Recommended!
Here you will be greeted by a friendly staff. I was fortunate enough to meet Swaran. The owner of the restaurant. It felt like being welcomed home.
Let's talk about the food: I ordered the Curry Specialties. I had this with Chicken. This dish is made with brown curry prepared with tomatoes, onions and fresh herbs. This is absolutely DELICIOUS!
Here is the best part. You can customize your spiciness level. Yes, you can choose from 1 spice level to 6 spice level! This is unheard of in many Indian Restaurants. At most places you will get their standard spice level. At 5 Rivers you customize your heat level to your liking.
Our next dish was the Chicken Biriyani. Again packed with flavor! Absolutely a delightful dish over all. And yes, you can also customize your spice level with this dish and Any dish here.
Finally, Plain Naan and Paneer Naan. Absolutely fluffy, a bit of chew, Nice little crisp for the crust, and extremely fresh.
This is a wonderful visit and will be coming back here again...
