Usually, I'd leave a higher review because it is my opinion that good food can be even better with great service. Not only was the service subpar, our server, Denice, was either untrained or uncaring for the our duration of our lunch. My girlfriend and I love coming here for our lunch/dinner dates whenever we have the extra time and money and we usually get Sara, who is exceptional at everything she does! Today, was a bit different. We weren't greeted with a positive attitude or any kind of pleasantries as we sat down, which I can understand, a bad day can make anyone sour!; Denice looked rushed and very, 'checked-out', so to speak, as she hurriedly asked for our drink order. I politely asked for a hot green tea, a water, and a Dr. Pepper to get us started, before she darted away to her other 2 tables that look like they've been served already. We waited patiently as she dropped our 2 drinks off, the tea and the Dr. Pepper, before he brisked away once more. I can understand having a rush of tables, but I couldn't get a word out before she walked away to let another guest know that their food would be delayed. My partner was feeling a bit unwell so she couldn't attest that her water wasn't delivered but I digress. It would be another 10 minutes before she came back to grab our food order, which, might I add, she seemed very distracted. I ordered the Double Blue Berry pancakes, a side of hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and bacon while my girlfriend ordered the Shrimp platter, which is a good choice imo BIG shrimp :) Denice was very quick to grab our order and leave before I could ask for a refill on my drink, which was a 3rd of the way gone. Another 15 minutes had gone by before our food had arrived and my drink was almost gone at that point and, as if by nature, Denice vanished from our section. We did not see her for another 10-15 minutes, which might not seem that long, but we had not had a refill since we first received our drinks. We do not know if she is new, untrained, or simply doesn't care, but we felt sorely abandoned as we watched her help a completely different section as we sat waiting for a refill, a water, or even an apology for the long wait. When she DID come over, she didn't ask if we wanted a refill or asked if everything was good/great; she simply asked if we wanted the check and asked if we wanted boxes. I was baffled, to say the least, and I quietly asked if I could please have another Dr. Pepper and a water, which I received promptly before she disappeared again. Again, I love this location because of the SERVICE and we always make it a date because of the people who make it a GREAT meal, not a just a 'good' one. Denice was not on her A-game today, nor did she seem to care. It might be a small gripe, but I would really appreciate some form of kindness or customer service relation if she were to...
Read moreThis place is not great. The floors and tables were sticky. The service was slow. The food that my young son and I ordered was served less than warm, as though it had been setting for a little while. My son ordered the Cupcake-pancake Combo and I ordered two eggs scrambled. The food was not good by we ate what we could. Once done, we sat, for a while before the check came. Once I got the check I noticed that I had been charged for five cupcake-pancake combos when I had ordered only one.b When I brought it to the attention of the server, she cut me off by saying: um...you pay up there, not here. I told her that I knew that but I was over changed and I needed an adjustment. She took the check and squinted her eyes at it and told me that it should be right cuz she didn't input it wrong, then she handed it back to me. I looked at the plates and remaining food on our table then back at her and said, we clearly didn't eat times 5 cupcake-pancake combos and we need this adjusted before I pay for what we did order. She took the check back and asked someone else. Then she brought me a new, adjusted check.
Aside from that, my son also got a case of food poisoning from the food (most likely the sausage or bacon according to the MD. He was seen by the urgent care are later in the evening and couldn't return to school the following day due to his symptoms.
I will not be returning nor will I ever recommend anyone to eat here. So not worth it. Best to continue to cook and...
Read moreI took my parents to eat at IHOP Evergreen Way on Sunday around 11 am, April 23rd. This is the first time we eat at IHOP. The food is great, especially the pancakes. The fame of the pancakes is well deserved. I love the pancakes. I took two stars off because the waiting time and order mistakes. I strongly believe waiters and employees need improvements. We waited for more than 30 minutes to get an available table. I had provided my name on the waitlist at the front desk. The restaurant was noisy. The employee failed to call my name out loud to notify me. It was not until people who came later than us got available tables, I checked with front desk to get to a table. I forget to mention, we had to wait more than 30 minutes for the food to be ready. The orders were incorrect. I ordered one salad and two break samplers, there are multiple options to select for the meat options, I chose two ham, two sausage and two bacon. But the waitress added extra portion of them. There were also options to substitute default pancakes in breakfast sampler combo to some other pancakes. I chose strawberry banana as substitute for one of the breakfast samplers and blueberries lemon ricotta as replacement for another breakfast combo. Instead, the waitress made extra orders of strawberry banana pancakes and lemon ricotta beside existing default pancakes. I had to pay nearly 40 dollars extra due to the...
