I have a lovely, waterproof Citizenās watch and I started going to Eminence Jewelers for battery replacement about 5 years ago after Five Star Jewelers at Fairfax Circle closed because of a fire in the shopping center. There are usually 2 gals at Eminence minding the counter: one is pleasant and friendly, the other one isnāt. The impression that the unfriendly one gives is that she isnāt happy working there, or she didnāt like āwaiting on meā, or maybe both. I think thatās called being passive aggressive. Regardless, it wasnāt āfunā to go there, but I tolerated her because I only went there infrequently for battery replacement.
I tolerated her, that is, until my last visit there: After picking up my watch with a new battery, later when I was doing dishes, wearing my waterproof watch, I noticed some moisture inside the crystal! I returned to Eminence and reported the problem. The āunpleasantā gal asked me what I had been doing, implying that it was my fault that my waterproof watch had moisture in it. The āguyā did whatever he had to do and fixed the problem; apparently he hadnāt closed it properly when he replaced the battery.
OK, I decided that was it! I decided that I would no longer tolerate the unpleasant gal, and her āattitudeā, which was now compounded with some bad service, so I looked for a new shop.
I found a new shop in Vienna, John Alabaster Watch & Clock Shop at 301A Maple Avenue West. He recently replaced the battery in my watch, he was very nice, and he did in less than 3 minutes, compared to Eminence, where it usually took several minutes. Iām glad that I found a shop where the people are nicer. In hindsight, I wish that Iād done it sooner. Oh well! It...

Before I go into detail about my experience, I just want to say that overall, I was happy with every step of the process.
I am a student, so my budget is not very high, my girlfriendās and Iās one year anniversary was coming up and I wanted to get her a promise ring.
I am also working full time, 9-5 on week days so I donāt have enough time to come in to look at the jewelry, the entire process was done without me even having to go into the jewelry shop.
I started by calling, explaining my situation, and giving details of what I was looking for. I can guarantee you will find the perfect piece for you because the kind people at Eminence Jewelry will work with you to find or make it.
They, specifically Monann, was so helpful throughout every step. She was so understanding with what I wanted and asked for, gave me different option through the phone and even emailed me pictures
Once I decided on a ring, they had it made so quickly even though I called them in such short notice.
When it finally came time for me to pick up the ring, the people there were so incredibly nice and welcoming. It felt like they cared about me as a person and saw me as more than a customer.
Monann actually cares has the people she is trying to service, she is understanding and prioritizes happiness over money.
I will definitely come back and I highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI found Eminence Jewelry through google search while looking for something near by my office. I recently got engaged and my fiance got my ring through an online vendor and I noticed a slight rattling sound which had me concerned. I called and asked if I could come by during my lunch break, and they told me to come by anytime - I walked in and within seconds was greeted and the sales tech immediately looked at my ring (thoroughly - with equipment so she could see the smaller surrounding stones of the main stone on my ring). Luckily everything was fine and nothing needed repair/tightening. I was charged nothing for their time. Nice clean store in a good location with lots of parking. Great customer service. I will be back for cleanings and perhaps my...
