Pickett Shopping Center — Local services in Fairfax

I only went to Einstein Bagels. They specialize in a variety of fresh high quality bagels, different cream cheese flavors, hot and cold bagel sandwiches, fresh brewed coffee, flavored lattes and cold drinks. Today at 11AM they were extremely busy with long lines, despite having 6 experienced employees plus the manager who efficiently operated the register, answered the phone, took customers orders, handled web and delivery orders, coordinated the employees keeping everything running as smoothly as possible, without showing any frustration. I was disappointed that they were out of many flavors of bagels which unsurprisingly caused disgruntled customers to angrily walk out. Friendly and warm atmosphere and a good variety of shops and eateries. This place was great if you're approaching it from 236 west and are departing northbound on Pickett road. It becomes much less convenient if you need to turn left onto Pickett road to leave because the light is so screwed up. Getting out of this parking lot takes strategic planning, circling down to the end of the exit line. The stores in this shopping center justify dealing with the parking lot. Best Trader Joe's in the region, but the Total Wine is not as well run as other locations. Parking is a challenge, and you need to cross the street to get to the better...

It's a bad set up getting out of this strip mall. Often, the light to make a left turn onto Pickett Rd and then onto Main Street/Arlington Blvd. is so short. You have to compete with other cars coming from the opposite directing. It doesn't have a dedicated left green arrow, AND bonus on the inconvenience, is that you're at an incline as you wait for the green light. I've seen drivers accelerate to try to make the light and almost cause or actually get involved in...
