Disappointed. The details need more work.
You walk in and just inside the doors there is what appears to be a self serve ordering terminal but towards the back of the place you can see a counter with terminals of some kind and staff, but it's not clear what you are supposed to do since there is zero signage offering direction.
I walked to the back and perused the menu on the monitors and opted for the Fried Salmon Hash. I start looking around trying to decide on a beverage but there are none listed on the menu so I had to ask the guy at the counter who pointed a slate writing board on the counter - really basic selection and no adult beverages unlike the Milk & Honey in Ashburn. Water please. I told him the order was 'for here' and he hands me a number on a stick; I go in search of someplace to sit.. The place is packed. The layout and poorly chosen furniture do not lend themselves to maximizing the space. They could easily fit 20-25% more seats.
It took probably 20 minutes to get my food which was delivered in a plastic to-go container which really took away from the food presentation (I'm pretty sure we got real tableware at the Ashburn location). First, while the food looked decent, despite the name, it wasn't a hash. It was a piece of deep fried salmon served on a bed of hash browns that had cheese melted on top along with some kind of 'cajun' sauce. Along with the to-go container the utensils were presented in a sealed plastic bag that included a single packet each of salt and pepper (they were conjoined actually). I dig in and despite it being dressed with 'cajun' sauce, it's bland. The runner who delivered the food stopped by and asked if I needed anything and I asked for some ketchup and more salt and pepper. When she returns instead of a bottle of ketchup she brings one of those little tubs with a lid that has maybe 2 tablespoons of ketchup in it along with another SINGLE conjoined packet of salt and pepper. Really ? Can you spare that single packet ? And it was sort of folded which looked like she had opened a utensil set and removed the S&P packet. Really ? For what you are charging you can't provide more than one S&P packet ?
Thankfully the salmon wasn't overcooked but like the rest of the dish it was bland.
Overall this only deserves two stars. The service of food in to-go containers for dine-in service really takes away from the whole thing, not to mention the whole prospect of all of those containers going straight to the landfill as there was no obvious recycling station present. I'd go back to Ashburn but probably not here. I suspect that most people will make this a one-off visit for many of the same reasons I mentioned, which is too bad as that area really could use more good options for...
Read moreBy far the worst service I’ve ever had. From the waitress to the supervisor that came out. My husband and I walked in and wasn’t greeted waited for about 7 min for someone to approach us. Once we were approached by one of the employees asked us how many people there were. Sat us down took them about 10min a waitress walked by and asked has anyone served us. She stated “well I’ll be theone to serve you”. We went ahead and ordered our food. Once the food came out I had no problem with my salmon BLT. My husband ordered the traditional breakfast with potatoes, eggs with cheese , bacon & a biscuit. I’m never the one to complain the eggs did not have cheese on them. We let the waiter know he stated “ well the cheese is usually cooked in with the eggs”. There was no cheese on the eggs whatsoever. You can clearly see if there is cheese on your eggs. The waiter then went to the back to let the cook or supervisor know. Once they returned they asked for us to scoop the eggs off the plate onto another plate first for him to get eggs with cheese. But that’s not it we were enjoying our breakfast until he cut his potato open and it looked like he cut into a sausage it was light pink on the inside just did not look like a regular potato. Which threw both of our appetites off. I was DISGUSTED. Let the waiter know she stated they are purple potatoes. Never had a potato in my life not saying there isn’t purple potatoes I never in life had a purple potato at any breakfast place I’ve ever been to or in my life time. They were very non chalant which I asked for the supervisor to come out. He was also very careless I explained the situation to him. My husband just being him he was willing to pay regardless of him not enjoying the food at all, he also did not eat his food. I asked if they could kindly remove that meal from the bill. They stated they will still charge for that meal. Did not have a care in the world. We were not happy with our services. WE WILL...
Read moreNo matter what the food chain is each restaurant do things differently no matter where you go in the world I love milk and honey in Fairfax Virginia I haven't had any problems I've had great service from young lady by the name of Tiffany and a gentleman by the name of Earl. They have giving great service there the food is great my food was hot. We dined in and even with this dining in and a little crowd they gave like a little rush and I feel like the rush of the crowds were like every hour. So like an hour will come then here comes a rush and then the Rush will go away then another hour will come crowd . And all different nationalities . And you know the one thing I will say that I did like was . Was even though they had inside and outside dining . You didn't smell marijuana. I do understanding everybody smokes marijuana. But I can't stand going to a restaurant and it smell from the staff or customer smelling marijuana. That not good business. It might be legal. But I don't understand why every where you go a public place some pome people just dont care. Theu feel cuz it legal that restaurant should allowed people to smoke. Some people forget there are family and other people with underlind health conditions. Even with it being crowded on Sunday everybody knows when you go to a restaurant on the weekend it's going to be very busy people just need to be patient. You know going to the restaurant during the week you might get everything that you want your food might just be really hot you get your food on time the weight won't be long everything happens good during the week everybody knows on the weekends when you go to any restaurant in the world I don't care where it is if it's from Canada to Mexico. Every restaurant in the world. So you just have to be patient everywhere you go you know. And if you going to do the long Waits then the food must be great but I will say that.
