On March 24, 2019 I went to the GameStop at the Bridgewater Falls Plaza around 2:30 PM. I intended to trade in my previously owned iPhone 7 256GB AT&T version as I had recently upgraded phones. When I went into the story and after waiting for the employees to finish their conversation (it was quite. obvious that they felt as though I had disturbed their conversation) I gave them the iPhone to trade in. The phone is in complete working order, a perfect screen, and no damage outside of standard wear and tear through over two years of use. On the GameStop website my item met all the requirements of a "Working" item yet when I went inside, who I assume to have been the manager of the store, looked at it and saw the slight abrasions on the side and said that because the phone was damaged it would need to be considered defective. I said that that was ridiculous as the phone is not damaged; even by GameStop's website it would not be considered damaged due to damaging having to consist of: "cosmetic damage that impairs functionality." It is standard wear and tear from use and does not impact the use at all.
I told the employee I would just take it to the other GameStop that I normally shop at. The employees words were "Hopefully they'll actually take it." I replied back that I'm sure they would as they aren't lazy and are looking for a way out of having to go through the full trade in process. When I said this the employee became violently offensive saying several statements of how I don't take care of my products and he doubts that they will take the phone in trade. I have shopped at GameStop for decades, and shopped at hundreds of stores throughout my life and to say that this was the worst treatment I have ever had at a store would be an understatement.
The employee ignored GameStop standards for trades and it was quite obvious that they just didn't want to to go through the process of trading in a phone. I get that a trade in can take a bit of time as I did one last year as they have to plug it up to the machine, check the IMEI, and many other aspects but that laziness and unwillingness to do their job was extremely offensive as a customer and woefully unacceptable. It's made it quite clear that I will never shop at this...
Read morei went in 2 days before christmas with the last little bit of money i had, i grabbed my sister an xbox gift card and i grabbed 2800 v bucks card for a co worker of mine, i get to the counter and the guy working who has big blue gages in his ears, rings me up, i pay with my card, then after the transaction goes through proceeds to tell me that he cant activate the v bucks card because the store has a limit on how much of them they can sell in a certain time frame, this of course in unbeknownst to me, probably something the store SHOULD advertise to people, so he tells me he can refund the 20$ for the v bucks, i ask him if it is going to be an instant refund, of course its not, so i tell him my bank account is holding my last 40 dollars and im leaving the store with a 15$ xbox gift card, upon looking at my bank account today, i see no refund and the pending 40$ charge from gamestop was processed, so thanks to negligence on their part i was not refunded the 20$, my co worker didnt get his christmas gift, and i am broke. Severely disappointed especially when you pay to be a pro member and get no type of empathy what so ever. i will be in the store tomorrow to make sure this wrong is...
Read moreWent in to buy a battery pack for my Xbox one controller. I had not been in a GameStop in a while and wanted to help support a business instead of ordering on Amazon. I made a mistake. The battery pack was the wrong size. I arrived at home and opened the box like anyone would. Once I found out, I put everything back in the packaging and attempted to return it for the item I needed. The sales associate stated that nothing could be done because the box had been opened. Now how was I supposed to know that it did not fit unless I opened the box? I was willing to even spend more money to get a new charging dock if needed but when the rep was unwilling to help, o was not spending another dime at this company. I emailed corporate and they offered trade in or in store credit for a lesser amount. I would not recommend this company. It’s businesses like this that cause customers to order online from Amazon. Even returning things online is easier than working with this company. I now see why there company stock was down 14% today. They do not care...
