What a wonderful find! I've been meaning to stop in since they opened and FINALLY did so today. AWESOMENESS is what I found! The owners are the most friendly and happy to teach about the food and their culture. And the food?!...SOOO GOOD!! I had the Al-Zaytune Grill Mix Special, which comes with chicken kabob (such a wonderful blend of herbs), beef kabobs (not usually a fan since meat is generally tough and dry, but HERE it's medium rare and perfect), and kofta kabobs (by FAR my new favorite thing to eat...the herbs and spices blend beautifully). The tea is served with their own freash-grown mint and is delicious.
I've never been to such a welcoming restaurant. It was akin to being invited to their home for a meal. Very friendly and so easy to talk to. Free Qurans are available for those who wish to learn more about the Muslim people and their culture. So cool!
The restaurant was clean and the decor lovely. On a BIG PLUS, the food is served on a sturdy paper-type of plate - NOT STYROFOAM! The cup for my tea was made in conjunction with Sustainable Forest Initiative. WAY TO GO!! Plasticware, but no plastic wrap and a reasonable amount of napkins handed out. Now all that's left is to get rid of the Styrofoam carryout containers! 🙂
Overall hands-down my new favorite place to eat. I'll definitely be back! Thanks for such a...
Read moreI was invited to eat here for lunch on a Monday with friends who have been before. I never would have known about it otherwise. Oh my gosh, I was so impressed with everything. The decor is just lovely with the blue swirly floor, to the live plants everywhere, to the repurposed screen door hanging from the ceiling. The service was so warm and personal. They didn't seem to mind that we sat there for two hours talking.
I don't throw 5 stars at a place lightly, especially for lunch. But this food was authentic and fantastic! I have never tasted falafel that was so perfectly fried and the spices were as important to the dish as the chickpeas. The hummus was so creamy with a good amount of seasoning and a lovely olive oil. The grape leaves were a little boring, but I haven't had them but one other time in my life, so maybe that is the way they are supposed to be. The gyro was indeed messy to eat, but the meat was SO tender and perfectly spiced. Their tzatziki sauce is great and they put plenty on the gyro so it is not dry. Fries are spot on. Pita is perfect. The Beef Shawarma platter is huge and everything blended perfectly. My friend really like his chicken shawarma sandwich.
This family obviously knows their stuff. This place is a step above the other Mediterranean restaurants in our area. ...
Read moreOMG! So we found out about this place by being at the treat street at Bridgewater falls. They were handing out candy for the kids and had samples of the gyro meat. It was a game changer. It was seasoned perfectly for my taste. So before we left Bridgewater I had to go buy a gyro to try it. The gyro was a decent size with lots of meat on it. The amount of meat could have made 2 from other places. I am not a fan of tzatziki(not sure if I spelled it right) sauce but their's is delicious. The young lady that took our order took the time to ask me a few questions and suggested to get the sauce on the side. I'm glad she did. The only complaint I have is the meat was greasy. Other than that I am definitely a new customer and will be back soon. Sorry I forgot to take pictures. Once I took the first bite I went all in. 🤤🤤
Second trip today 11/02/2022 I went back for more gyro's. Everyone is so friendly. They answer any questions you have. The service is excellent. The food is so good. It's consistent. The flavor is great. It's worth the money you pay. The pictures do it no justice. It's a nice size. If you're thinking about trying it please do. I promise you won't be disappointed. I love garlic so I asked for a side of garlic sauce. It's so good. Next time we go we are going to try...
