Hopefully I can change my thoughts of this store later. I have never been here. My wife and I decided to get a new bed frame and TV stand for our move next week. We found some ncie piedes and they had a good sale going on. The sale was very weird tho. You can use cash or your own credit card and receive 50% off.. Your other option was to open up a credit card with them and receive 30% off. I thought this was weird. Typically you would want someone to open a credit card with you so they spend more money with you in future. It's whatever tho. It's their deal and its not why I gave a 1 star. Literally went in there at 2pm and didn't leave until 4pm..the lady helping us followed us in a circle around the whole store.. When we turned around she would act like she was doing something. When we decided what we wanted it took 1.5 hours to checkout. She automatically assumed we wanted the extended warranty of $299 and shipping of $250. These prices were outrageous.. I went on the website and it offered free shipping. So we did get her to waive shipping on TV stand. During the transaction she walked away from us 3 times for longer than 5 minutes each time without saying anything. Finally my wife went and said something to another sales person. A few minutes later the manager came to help her. She even tried to walk away from him to where he had to tell her to stay here. This is a long story but I cannot believe buying furniture is harder then handling something at the DMV.. When we got home we both somewhat regretted buying what we bought and wish we just bought the bed we saw at crate and barrel. We have great experiences with them and they always give us free shipping out of there walnut creek store. The manager was a funny guy and did make it better and we do like the stuff we bought.. There are some mixed reviews but it seems when people are happy with their experience it is because everything went smoothly and when people are angry it’s because everything for them went wrong. I guess a mediocre experience wouldn’t warrant a review. Other than to say most of the issues people have are out of our control, I won’t make excuses for the reviews people had who were unhappy. I will speak of my experience. I ordered an adjustable base and bed. I scheduled my delivery for the end of the month because I know I need to clean and clear out space. About 4 days ago I received an email in my junk mail from Ashley’s that said I can receive an earlier delivery if I chose. I decided what the heck and chose today 7/9/21. PLEASE CHECK SPAM OR JUNK MAIL WHEN ORDERING OR YOU COULD MISS IMPORTANT INFORMATION! 2 days prior I got an email reminding me of my delivery and to be on the look out for a text or phone call to confirm. Yesterday I got a text to confirm and I replied yes. This morning before 8AM I received a text reminding me again that my delivery was today and that I could track my driver. I received a text when my driver was 10 minutes away, I then received a phone call from my driver Julio who let me know he was 3 minutes away. Upon arrival Julio was in good spirits and his partner had my furniture up and they were finished within 25 minutes. Read moreI went in yesterday and I was helped by Agnes. She was great and helped my fiance and I find a set we really liked and we bought it. However, afterwards we couldn't help but feel uneasy about the price, and that there was a $400 automatic warranty attached just to get a discount. The math wasn't adding up, so I returned to the store with my dad to talk to 2 managers there, one being the customer service manager at the back desk. I felt pressured into keeping the set regardless of how I felt about the price and getting a good product, but I know I can get one at a better price. I also didn't appreciate the snarky remarks from the customer service manager as I went to cancel my order, saying "trust your guts, as long as it's not anyone else's guts," implying that my dad is the one who dragged me back to Ashley to cancel the order. I loved the experience at first with Agnes (who was not there when we came back), but coming back really showed true colors, and I will not be coming back because of such a sour experience.
My fiance and I get married this month (Dec 2024) and this is our first time trying to buy furniture we like but at a great price. We would've loved the furniture set if we could've just removed the $400 automatic warranty, but they were not budging.
