L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Fairfield

Very hot day, 98 degrees to be exact. Showed up to L&L and the front door was wide open with a bedroom, stand up fan blowing the hot, kitchen air out. The restaurant was empty, but we thought we would give it a try anyways considering that I had been warned this restaurant never uses the AC. Bad idea! As soon as we walked in, it felt like an inferno! It was hotter inside than outside. The lady running the register was sitting on the counter eating some food. I asked her why it was so hot in there and well as why they don't turn the AC on and she told me they don't use it because they use the fan and pointed to the stand up fan. Needless to say we turned around and walked out. If they are too cheap to keep their restaurant cool and comfortable for their customers, then who knows what other money saving short cuts they are using...

I really enjoy this place, the flavors are super super tasty and worth the money! but don't order anything fried!!!!

the fried shrimp, and the chicken katsu,,, it just tastes like oil!!! 🤢 crunchy oil with a hint of chicken, or shrimp.... 🤮

but it's a shame because the bbq musubi chicken, and the garlic shrimp are great! the bbq beef is my favorite!!

I like to order a BBQ and Seafood plate, but I have to eat the nasty fried shrimp and fish ☹️. I wish I could customize my order and have BBQ Chicken, Beef, and Garlic Shrimp 😋!!! but I can't even change out the fried shrimp (the most disgusting shrimp I ever tasted 😭)..

the lady says everything has to be on the same order from the menu, that makes me suspect they prepackage the portions 🙄

This place smells dirty!!! As soon as you walk in, you’ll smell it. And the food wasn’t goid either.. I ordered the loco moco. The meat tasted really bad. You can tell the meat was not freshly cooked. It was just reheated and it is a very low quality type of meat. Even the gravy did not taste good at all. And when I lifted the top patty, there were some pieces of mushy rice in between the patties, so I don’t know if they were left over from another plate order or what. Anyway, since I was so hungry, I ate the fried egg, but that’s about it I dumped the rest of the food away! I will never go back to this...
