IMMIGRANT DISCRIMINATION! My wife tried to order a couple watches online. After several attempts she enlisted my help. Sure enough, their software says she is an unverified person so they cannot continue with her purchase. Unverified? So I call Macy's and the CSR tells me that Macy's uses a 3rd party system and that according to them, my wife doesn't live at my house. She's been there for 2 years and has a drivers license and SS number and regular mail. They hem and haw and I ask to speak to a supervisor. The lady (she gave me the name Rove and employee #91145785) gets passive aggressive about that and puts me on hold, then comes back and pretends not to hear me, then hold again. After repeating back to each other Hello? Hello? a few times she hangs up. Call back, finally get a manager. My wife is in tears, she can't believe she is being treated this way. We are people trying to use money to purchase a product, it shouldn't be a huge hassle. She wants these watches for her friend's birthday and she can't see to find them anywhere else. She's super upset that a company needs to "verify" her before taking her money. We both feel that she is being discriminated against because she is an immigrant and does not have over 2 years of an online paper trail. Why the hell should she? Just take our GD money and give us a product! So sad... After she got upset with the manager they agreed to let us purchase the watches under MY name. They took my $$$ and gave us a confirmation. Later that day we get an email saying whoops your bank declined the payment. I've had zero issues with my bank in 15 years however I called them just to make sure. They said Macy's charged the amount and it was authorized. Called Macy's again, they said nope we can't use that card. This is a debit card with much more $ in the account than what was charged. I asked if we could use another card. They said the system wouldn't let them change payment methods. I hung up on them and after discussing it with my wife we have decided never again to set foot in a Macy's store, look at their ads or visit their website. It shouldn't be this hard to give someone money and get nothing but a drawn out drama in return....
Read moreHorrible experience. When I first went in there with my kids, on the first floor even though the workers were grouped up, literally standing around talking amongst each other, they never acknowledged us. Literally just stared at us the whole time, I thought they were going to say something, but no, they just watched us while talking amongst each other, review the cameras, you'll see it. I go up to the next floor, and see an air fryer, it was on sale, but noticed they had no more of that one, just the display. So I go to look for someone on this floor, and couldn't find anyone for 10 mins, when I finally do, I ask the worker, if I can have the display cause that looks to be the only one left, so says, "yes, you certainly can." I ask her for the box it comes in, and she asks me to hold on while she go gets it. I'm waiting for another 15 mins, only for her to say, "I'm sorry, we can't sell you that." It's fine, I see another one that's a really good price so I grab that one instead. We go back to the register, and we're the only one, and she literally goes, " sorry, I'm going on break." It took me another 15 min just to find someone to help ring us up. Literally had go downstairs and upstairs. I asked a man where can I go to purchase this, and he goes, "anywhere you see someone." It wasn't until we run into another group of workers, who like the first group, standing around, talking amongst each other, I ask one of the ladies for help, and she goes, " you couldn't find anyone in that department to ring this up for you?" Obviously not, I wouldn't be here asking you, now would I? We finally complete the purchase, and the security had the audacity to eye us like he wasn't just watching us in the camera, walking back and forth looking for a cashier, like we stole it. You were nowhere to be found when we needed help, and when we actually purchase it, you have the audacity to pop out and eyeball us? Workers like these is why I'm all for making robot workers. Idc what line of work you're in, have some type of professionalism or a little bit of quality customer service, especially if you're working in a...
Read moreThere is a saleswoman in the fragrance section at Macy’s whom others referred to as "Halima." She is extremely rude, impolite, and lacks basic social etiquette. Even while talking to customers, she was shockingly chewing gum in a way that clearly showed her disrespect. She is fighting over customers. She makes customer uncomfortable. As a regular customer at Macy’s, I always try to avoid encountering her because she constantly pushes products aggressively just to earn a commission. On one occasion, a friend of mine was ready to make a purchase but specifically requested that another salesperson handle the transaction instead of her. What we witnessed was unforgettable—this woman insisted more than four times that the transaction be processed at her counter, despite facing resistance. Eventually, after showing clear disrespect, she reluctantly allowed the young vendor to proceed, However, that woman gave the salesperson a code that was specifically hers so that the transaction would be registered under her name, just to earn the commission. She didn't give up and after transaction she check all transactions to be sure about it!!But the young salesperson was so smart and used other code! LOL It seems that she has no understanding of workplace discipline and professional behavior, or perhaps Macy’s management has...
