Me and my husband visited Best Buy yesterday between the hours of 6 and 7p.m. I was shopping for a laser jet printer for my business. I looked around at the new tablets, then went over to the section with the new desktop computers. I was asked if I needed any help. I said I was just looking bcuz I was there specifically for a printer. I was talking to hubby about how I eventually wanted to upgrade our desktop computer at home to something with a bigger screen like the one we were looking at. After browsing for a bit, we headed over to the printers. We were trying to figure out which printers were laser and which ones were inkjet. I needed a specific printer with specific functions to help my business run smoother and really wanted the help bcuz I had questions. Still browsing no one comes over and ask us if we need help. We were in the printer section for like 15 minutes trying to figure out what we wanted to purchase. Since no one approached us, we decided to purchase a printer elsewhere so we left the printer section and went over to the CDs and movie section. I browsed for a couple minutes b4 someone came over and asked if I needed any help. I said nope just looking, so the gentleman went over to a computer near us and blared some loud music acting like he was doing something the entire time we were in that section. Hubby was getting irritated and wanted to leave the store. He was getting upset that I wanted to purchase anything from that store. So I bought 2 CDs. I only spent 12 dollars. As I was leaving, a lady looked like she was coming over to us but turned around and so we left. Hubby told me when we got to the car that he didn't want me to buy anything from that store cuz he was being followed by at least 3 people that is why he was irritated in the store. He also told me the lady that looked like she wanted to check our receipt changed her mind when she seen how irritated my husband was. I don't get treated like this when I am by myself so why do I get treated like this when I bring my husband. I needed his opinion and to help me make a decision on what features we wanted for our new printer. This isn't the first time. This is the reason people shop online cuz they are not judged. I really needed a printer right away. I told my husband that if I knew he was being followed, I would not have purchased anything from that store at all. You are not the only ones that sell CDs and I buy most of my electronics online anyway. Me and hubby went down the street to OFFICE MAX. It was a much better atmosphere. Someone helped us right away. The same printer we were thinking about buying at Best Buy was 40 dollars more at Office Max but we purchased it anyway bcuz of the service. He explained the different brands of printers, his personal experience, and showed us where to buy refills on toner, and mentioned the discounts on copy paper(which is a little higher than Wal Mart), but I bought it anyway cuz of how we were treated. He even answered additional questions my hubby had. I would never invest in Best Buy and would not encourage anyone else to either. Too bad Best Buy missed out on...

Normally I do not do this, but I recently found some information out. Let me tell the entire story. I bought a $1,000 plus laptop from best buy. I was excited about it, i saved for a long time, and it was a major stepping stone for college. Laptop ran excellent for a long time until November - ish. The screen began to flash green during videos, freeze the frame of videos, really weird stuff. And I only had one browser open, and one tab, so i knew it was not a ram issue. I started to ask around about the problem no one knew why i was having the issues, a repair shop needed my laptop info and i was away on a work trip, so my dad found my box from the laptop and saw that i had a year warranty. he called me and then we brought it to best buy, and they had it for about a week and a half. we told them the issues were Videos would make the screen go completely green, freeze the video (meaning like the video looked like a screen shot of the entire laptop, very weird.) the two usb ports were very loose. the laptop would not hold a charge (which aggravated me because I never used it while charging or ever let it charge more than 4 hours.) the back plate of the laptop the tab was peeling off (the rubber that propped the device.)
they said all of it would be fixed. HAHAHAHAHA
When i received the laptop back it seemed to be fine, Yeah right lol.
When i got the laptop first thing i noticed was a dent on top, they had no clue about it, haha of course right? I said okay whatever, they told me that the mother board was replaced, usb ports were replaced, and everything was fixed. i left semi happy because it was all """""fixed"""" About a week later, SAME THING with the videos. I was like whatever, all i had to do was close the browser and research/load the video. now it has came to the point that i can watch a video for about 5 minutes and begins again! I am beyond mad...Also the laptop still doesn't hold a charge past 2.5 hours. the usb ports are still loose one still works on and off. i am so mad and disappointed at Best buy and HP.
This week i brought the device that about 25 people recommended to me, to take a look at it, He told me he believes the laptop was opened, the motherboard was NOT replaced, the usb ports have NOT been replaced or re soldered, the battery was the same factory one was never removed.
And when i gave my laptop to bestbuy they needed the charger too, but guess what THEY GAVE ME A DIFFERENT ONE! I was always curious why when i got it back a box pops up and says SMART ADAPTER CHARGES BUT NOT TO FULL FUNCTION - Something along those lines.
I feel that i wasted my $1,000+ dollars !!!!
Thanks best buy...
Read moreI purchased a laptop in April, they talked me into buying the 2 year replacement plan. I didn't want it because I thought it was a waste of money, the last two laptops I've had, I had for almost a decade each with no issues. I do have animals and a lot of nieces and nephews so the selling point was AND I QUOTE "you could go outside and drop it right now, bring it in and we will replace it on the spot. Especially if you're around kids, they break stuff all of the time." So why not. Oh what a lie that is. I also used to work for best buy in fairview many years ago, I was just a cashier and that's exactly how I was told to pitch any replacement plan. Now I feel like I screwed people over. In October my laptop could no longer find a hard drive, took it in, no they do not replace it, they send it off. Fine. A week or two later I get it back and they said it's all fixed. A month later it did get actually damaged, the mousepad was broken. Again, took it in, sent it out, got it back fixed. Only this time I get an email that says my 2 year replacement plan has been fulfilled since repairs have reached a certain limit and it is NO LONGER COVERED. THAT IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD TELL CUSTOMERS. Why do you even call it a 2 year plan? Why do you have your employees lie? So the laptop turned on at geek squad when I got it back. They confirmed it's no longer covered. The same night while watching Netflix, it froze. I was going to bed anyway so I turned it off, days later I go to use it (I don't use it often) and now it can't find a hard drive AGAIN. It's been sitting on a desk since I brought it home, hasn't been moved at all, I keep the door closed so my animals have been no where near it. With the holidays, I've barely even been home. So, now I'm thinking they didn't really fix it the first time and I'm stuck with a laptop that no longer works. I will never shop there again and I will be sure to educate people about your "replacement plans" from now on...
