Was very pleased with the service, room, breakfast .and pool. The staff is always friendly at this location. The room was spotless and just as we booked it with the jacuzzi tub which worked great. The breakfast was good, they could use the benefit of maybe changing it up a little bit here and there, but overall that's just a preference and what they do serve is good and they stay on top of it even for the last minute arrivals they don't stop filling it because they're ending breakfast in 10 minutes they continue to fill things as long as people are in their eating, which is unusual honestly. Most hotels they stop filling the food after a certain time so people are not eating past the breakfast end time. They are very accommodating. The pool was actually heated and felt great. It seems in our experience lately any hotel we've gone to that says heated pool, the pool is not heated at all. This one was heated and it was clean. I did have to go ask for towels when we first went in there cuz there wasn't on the shelf but within probably 5 minutes he was in there with the big stack of towels.
One advice would be to update the coffee in the rooms as with both visits we've had at this hotel in recent weeks, the coffee literally tastes like your drinking the ashes out of an ashtray because I believe it's very old and outdated. It's just not good at all so they need to get new coffee for the rooms. Another note I would say would be it would be nice to have them offer coffee in the lobby 24/7. Every other comfort Inn or comfort suite and in fact I think Choice Hotel that I've stayed at has had coffee available 24/7. This is the only one that does not. It's just nice to be able to grab a cup on the way out or in, especially since the coffee in the rooms is so bad. I wouldn't take any marks away for this as these are just preferences of something that you can maybe look into.
Another positive note is, we were here on another occasion during a nasty storm that actually had a couple tornadoes that passed through and the hotel did not have a tornado but had severe extreme winds that actually blew open the lobby doors. Many residents were down there because we evacuated our rooms to get to a lower level and that was kind of scary. The staff were scared obviously because all the power was out and the storm was really bad. The hotel guest lined up down the main hallway sitting on the floor just like you were taught in school during a tornado drill. But the two workers that he mean even though you could see the fear in them they handled it so well and professional. They stayed calm which in turn kept everybody else calm and they stayed very positive through it all while they were making phone calls and stuff trying to figure out exactly how to handle and what to do in the situation. Overall there was no injuries and everybody came out okay so it was definitely experienced to talk about and to keep in our memories but I think the employees need to be commended for that. it was however obvious that they had no storm plan in place because they clearly did not know what to do but they really did a good job trying to...
Read moreThe worst experience ever. The toilet didn't flush, the room was dirty, the bathroom was filthy. I called down to have them fix the toilet and the guy came up and said o it's broken would I like another room. Uh duh! So when I moved to the next room, I asked for cleaning supplies. So i could clean that bathroom, he said they don't have any! What! I left to go buy cleaning supplies. I couldn't move to another hotel because it was graduation weekend and all of them were booked. I came back and took the pillow case off tonspray it with lysol and febreeze the pillow had a big stain on it. I asked for another pillow, he said he didn't have any because all of the rooms were booked..ok I just got moved from one room to another give me a pillow from that room. Surely you can't rent it out with the broken toilet. So I then said forget it is just 2 nights. I left and went to my family house to visit. Soon as I got there the guy from the hotel calls me and say I need to come back to the hotel ASAP because he made a mistake and refunded me for my room. I told him I wouldnt be back until about midnight he said I get off at 11 and I have to have this fixed before then. I told him I wasn't gonna be back until about midnight. So I hung up. He proceeds to try charge my card 15 times. Good thing I had it locked. When I arrived to the hotel about 1050pm he tells me that he was trying to get the money for the room that he refunded. I told him I didn't have extra money to pay for the room twice being that he said I had to wait until Tuesday for it to be reduced to my bank. He proceeds to tell me well borrow it. I told him to borrow it..he made the mistake he needs to fix it..I told him soon as the money is refunded I'll repay it. After about 10 minutes of back and forth about how I need to get money from somewhere to pay for his mistake I left. When I got to my room with my grandchildren, the key didn't work. He tells me that it must have been by my phone. I am not crazy. He deactivated my keys and he knows it. The worst customer service and cleanliness ever! After I cleaned the room myself and changed the sheets, I put another sheet that I had bought on top and used my cover to sleep. No pillow because he didn't have pillows to exchange the dirty ones. The pillow cases were dirty too. He said they were stains that won't come out!...
Read moreGreat experience. Visited twice in the last month. $100 incidental deposit is required. They do allow this to be paid in cash or a hold on your card. Not sure if deposit is different if you pay for room with cash or not. We booked thru choice website on card, but paid deposit with cash. (Just an added FYI) The first was a couple weeks ago and we had a great time. Even made it thru a terrible storm. We had to leave our room to head down to lobby for safety. Many other guests were there as well when the storms blew the lobby doors open. Scary to say the least. The 2 workers were nervous, but kept calm and that's helped everyone else stay calm. Definitely could tell they had no storm plan in place, but still managed. So maybe incorporating a storm plan for future issues would be a good idea. The second stay was this past weekend and we again had a nice time. The room was clean, the hotel was clean (even with its outdated decor) , the bed was comfy, the room air and heat unit was quiet and worked great, the jacuzzi tub worked great, the pool was very comfortable (a heated pool that was actually heated and not an ice bath like our experience in other hotels, haha). Breakfast was good and they didn't rush people out. Ended at 9 but if people were there, they fed them. A family was still eating when we checked out at 10. That was nice to see. They put the guests first. Only issue we had was the room coffee pods on both visits were nasty. The coffee was obviously very old and stale. Maybe redo the coffee inventory and get up to date coffee. The other thing would be something I see in other choice hotels, and that is having coffee in lobby available all the time. It is nice to have that as an option when coming and going. Hot water for tea as well. That's not a huge issue that would take a star away, but definitely something to maybe look into changing. We live local and like to just sometime get a change of environment with a pool, so this will definitely be a frequent go to location for us. Everyone is so kind. I also thank you for the option of the cash deposit, so we don't have to wait for our bank to release our funds. We get the cash back immediately...
