I recently stayed at the Drury Inn & Suites in Fairview Heights and would give it a 3-star rating. There are definitely some positives, but also several issues that made my stay less enjoyable. The biggest disappointment was the condition of the bathroom — the bathtub was noticeably dirty and stained, which didn’t give a great first impression. The shampoo provided in the shower burned my eyes pretty badly and left my hair frizzy and dry instead of moisturized like it claimed. The conditioner was also a hassle — it took forever to come out of the wall dispenser, and the scent of both products was really strong and off-putting. Honestly, I’d recommend bringing your own hair care products if you plan to stay here.
The TV channel selection was limited and unreliable. I tried tuning into a channel listed on the guide they provided, and it just didn’t work. As for the food, it wasn’t terrible, but it definitely needed more seasoning. They did have salt and pepper available, but it didn’t help much. The portion sizes were okay, but the soda cups were really small, and after eating, I had a bit of a stomach ache — not sure if it was the food or just how it was prepared.
On a positive note, the location is pretty convenient. There are several restaurants nearby, including a Bob Evans right next door that's within walking distance, which is great if you're trying to save on gas or just want a different food option. Overall, the hotel is decent for a short stay, but there’s definitely room for improvement — especially with cleanliness, amenities, and in-room details.
Service could use improvement. We arrived at the hotel at 3:10 P.M., just 10 minutes after the posted check-in time, but there was no one at the front desk to assist us. We ended up waiting until 3:32 P.M. before we could actually check in and head up to our room. It was frustrating having to wait that long with no staff in sight, especially when we were already past the official...
Read moreOn 2/15/19 we visited Fairvew Heights, we checked in during the Kick Back hours. granted the place was packed but there was no room to move around so we figured we would come back after we get all the way settled...We had a slight issue with our bathroom smelling like dew so the Guest Services guy moved us to a different room and stated that they're starting a remode in a couple of weeks. We actually didn't make it to the kick back so me and family headed out to get something to eat. We then make it back and get settled in and me and my daughter's whom one is an adult as well decided to get drinks and maybe some popcorn from the lobby. Here goes nothing.... A woman by the name of Cory Whiteman a supervisor at that yells from across the desk (you can't be down here after 10p... Her tone was so rude) she repeated herself, I then look at her and she begin to apologize. She then say to me I thought you were a kid. I begin to tell her I was getting something to drink not knowing it was shut down after 9p. I then say so you think it was ok to talk to kids like that I mean she was really rude. She did apologize for not knowing I was an adult but it didn't matter because she could have used a different tone but she chose to be rude along with assuming we were all kids. The moral of the story is don't assume and don't talk to people rudely no matter who it is you think that they are... And she's a supervisor she should know better. Also after I said I am not a kid and that I paid 163.94 to be told I can't be in a lobby pass 10p along with that fact that I didn't get to experience the kick back nor the popcorn or complimentary drinks. Ruined my night. I will never come back to this hotel after this experience not EVER...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Drury Inn Fairview Heights. We chose this hotel because it was dog-friendly, and it did not disappoint. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was excellent.
During breakfast, we met a wonderful employee named Beth, who made our experience even better. Our stay took place over the Thanksgiving holiday, and despite the busy season, the staff remained professional, kind, and attentive. The front desk team was especially helpful and welcoming, making check-in and our overall experience seamless.
The room was comfortable and quiet, allowing for restful nights. The housekeeping staff was exceptional – very professional and thorough. They clearly take pride in their work, and we made sure to tip them for their excellent service.
The hotel’s amenities were impressive – from the well-maintained gym with updated equipment to the unique pool that is split between indoor and outdoor sections. If you want to switch between the two, simply swim under the divider to move outside. Additionally, the hotel offers convenient washer and dryer facilities, which made our extended stay even easier.
The complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations each morning, offering a great selection of delicious options. We stayed for a week and consistently received outstanding service from every staff member we encountered.
This hotel truly made our holiday stay memorable, and we would...
