Unfortunately I had an awful experience at Plato's Closet in Fargo today. I came in with my friend to look for some summer shorts. We were not greeted when we came into the store, and no one asked initially what we were looking for. I grabbed 6 pairs of shorts to try because I have a very had time finding shorts that fit well and are not too revealing. The fourth pair of shorts I tried on HAD A TAMPON IN THE POCKET. It was pretty gross and I am surprised that the pair of shorts made it to the racks without being looked at first. My friend and I were in back-to-back dressing rooms, and she had handed me some things to try on. Having worked in retail for two and a half years, I understood the worker's concern was she approached us asking us not to do that. Understandable, shop lifting is an issue in Fargo. HOWEVER, she repeatedly came up to my friend to remind her not to do that. My friend expressed "Yes, I heard you". I don't believe that was necessary. And what would have been really helpful is if the worker had asked what I was looking for, and perhaps help me to find a certain style or brand to look for. I'm sure many customers can relate that shorts shopping can be a stressful experience, and the worker's lack of consideration really made me feel like a non-valued customer. IN ADDITION, while I was in the dressing room, several of the worker's were complaining about a customer on the phone. I don't know the situation, I don't know the context, but the way they were talking about the customer on the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was quickly becoming more uncomfortable as the workers were using words to describe the customer's requests as "stupid". I understand that especially in retail, sometimes you just need to vent to your coworkers. Perhaps a better decision would have been to save that conversation for the break room or after work. Lastly, as I was finishing up trying on shorts (yes, I did try on about 20 pairs), I overheard the worker say to my friend "You guys aren't getting ANYTHING?". I was really taken aback by that question. No ma'am, I only found one pair of shorts that I felt comfortable about myself in. I am not going to purchase items that do not fit well and make me feel less confident about my body. An extremely long review, but to sum up there was a tampon in the pocket I was trying on, I wasn't asked what I needed help with, and the worker made my experience really uncomfortable with the bad-mouthing, non-considerate combo. I am so disappointed, I have been going to Plato's closet for years, and have never had this poor of an experience. I will not be going back...
Read moreThe staff at the Fargo location are extremely disrespectful. I will never step foot into a Plato’s Closet EVER again, especially the Fargo location. I had bought a sports bra and realized it was the wrong size when I got home. About 4 days later (well within the 7 day return policy) I brought the sports bra in with tags attached and asked for a refund as it was my mistake I grabbed the wrong size. The lady with the long dark hair said a bra is an “accessory” therefore cannot be returned. I questioned how a sports bra is an “accessory” item and all she could say is it just is. I had returned a coat a week ago and she had said we returned your coat for you and I said yeah, because you have to based on your store policy. She then scoffed at me, shoved the sports bra and plastic bag towards me and said take it and go. She didn’t even put the items back in the bag!!!! I then asked my mom to come in with me. We walked in and my mom asked my daughter just tried to return a sports bra and it appears it’s an “accessory” item and asked what the definition of an “accessory” is. The long, dark haired lady started to attack me and tell my mom how bad I carry myself and how I’m not a pleasant person at all! Are you F’ing kidding me?! She then asked my mom and I to leave for being disrespectful and my mom just said for asking a question about your store policy? She didn’t have anything to say. I will NEVER EVER step foot in this establishment EVER AGAIN. It’s unfortunate that the staff believe it is OK to talk to a customer in this matter. I also find it interesting that under the Plato’s closet categories on their website, a sports bra is listed under “Active Wear”, not under...
Read moreI am from out of town (Canada) and figured since am heading to Fargo I would bring some of my new/gentle used clothing to get some extra cash. I went online to see what items they take, went through my closet of stuff and came up with few garbage bags of items. I broguht my stuff in to plutos closet Fargo, the girls... Said that they would call me once they look through my stuff, ten minutes later they texted me saying my stuff is ready, I go there and they declined everything! I had coach purses , Uggs,Adidas, north face jackets, women denim size 12, Micheal Kors and so on.. And Everything in mint and declined it all! Saying "stuff was outdated, and brands that aren't selling" even though I made sure to bring what they had online ad brands they sell. Anyways, I was shocked it took only 10mins for them to go through 4 garbage bags of clothing, I came home opened the bags, and to my surprise everything in them is in the same order as if it was not even looked at. I came to realize that they did not look at anything, just left my bags!. I have never had an experience like that, and never will I go there when coming Fargo. They missed out, cause I did bring very nice in style, name brand items. I will stick to my Canadian pluto's closet! The customer service there is much better then Fargo, those girls (can't say ladies cause they look, act and sound immature and young) were unprofessional and lazy as I know they did not go through my belongings. I figured all plutos closet would treat their customers the same, but clearly...
