I received a flyer for Rural King in the mail. They had a cat tree that I needed for a good price. I drove 40 minutes one way to purchase the tree to find an empty shelf with a price card on it. I found an employee and asked if they had any cat trees left and showed her the ad. Her comment "Where did you get that ad". My answer "in the mail. " Employee "Well that ad doesn't start until Sunday. We have a lot of those in the back." And sure enough in very tiny words at the top of the front page it had the dates. MY mistake. I dutifully backtracked thru the store and replaced all of the items that were in the ad, left the store and drove 40 minutes home. On Sunday I drove 40 minutes back to the store, went directly to the same shelf and found it empty. No employees around. I walked back to the front of the store, explained my dilemma, and the cashier called someone to help me find the "trees". No one showed. After going aisle to aisle for 10 minutes I finally found the tree, loaded the 51 pound bulky box by myself (I qualify for Senior Citizen discount) and started the quest for LARGE dog treats that were in the ad. Again I had to find an employee who explained they had not received that particular item, but were substituting SMALL dog treats. I explained I had large dogs and that would not work. She was extremely nice and made a different substitution which could be the subject of another review because the employees had a difficult time figuring pounds and price. SO I check out and the cat tree box has been opened, and I make the comment"I hope all of this is here as it has been opened and it's the only one like it on the floor". Loaded the bulky box by myself (with an employee on the parking lot) who asked just as I slid it into the back of my truck. "Hey, you need some help with that?" I guess my white hair served as a possible clue I might need some help. Rejected the help as it was loaded. Drove 40 minutes home and you guessed it!! It wasn't all there! Called the store "Please bring it back and we will replace it ." Me "you can't just send me the parts that are missing?" Store " No we can't open another box to get parts." So this will involve another 80 minutes of driving, lifting this bulky box 2 more times, and the replacement box at least one time. Lesson learned. Have I saved anything? NO!! I will just coordinate this return trip to shop at Tractor Supply. I am only rating a 2 because the ladies at the...
Read moreI am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with a recent warranty repair service performed on my almost new Champion generator at your facility. The generator was brought in because it would not start. Upon initial assessment, the mechanic stated, "It's the carburetor, and we have one on order." After a significant delay due to issues with ordering the part (requiring a second attempt), the new carburetor was finally installed. However, the generator remained extremely difficult to start. Rather than further diagnosing the root cause, the shop opted to reinstall the original carburetor and informed me the unit was ready for pickup. I was given instructions by the mechanic to "pull it three times on choke, and then two times on run, and it'll start every time," along with an explanation that "new generators have low compression, so they are harder to start and that the carburetors are different." Upon returning home and following these instructions precisely, the generator would not even attempt to start. It was at this point that I decided to investigate the issue myself. While pulling the starter rope, it became immediately apparent that there was a complete lack of compression â a fundamental requirement for an engine to start. I proceeded to remove the valve cover and quickly discovered the actual problem: the exhaust rocker arm was excessively tight, preventing the exhaust valve from fully closing. This directly led to the lack of compression. After a simple 5-minute adjustment of the valve lash, the generator started on the second pull and now runs perfectly with proper compression. I am utterly astounded that professional mechanics at a repair shop failed to identify such a basic and critical issue. A simple valve lash check is a fundamental diagnostic step for any small engine experiencing starting difficulties and loss of compression. Instead, valuable time was wasted on incorrect carburetor replacements, and I was given misleading information about "low compression" in new generators. This experience suggests a significant lack of basic diagnostic competence. I would strongly advise potential customers to seek repair services elsewhere, as what should have been a quick and straightforward repair was mishandled, causing unnecessary...
Read moreWas kicked of store property for no reason. Was shopping had cart full of items I was going to purchase when two officers and a store employee walk up saying I need to leave premises. I had to abandon my items that I spent a good hour shopping for. They demanded I give them my drivers license and had me sign a paper saying I was to be fined if I return to rural king. I ask multiple time what I had done and they never told me why. I've spent $1000's at that store. I've purchased firearms, it is where I get all my sthil stuff from. I was a driver for pepsi and made deliveries there once every two weeks. Never had a problem with any employee no issues what so ever. Thier loss I was a very good customer I will now be taking my business elsewhere. Escorted out of store by two officers in front of everyone. These are people from my home town, my comunity looking at me like I'm some kind of criminal. That can't be undone. Mind you I did nothing and they wouldn't even answer me when I ask them why. Police demanded my drivers license looking ran my info I assume to try and find warrants with no reason what so ever. Done this In front of everyone. Not only that after they was done with me they went after some other poor guy to do the same thing to him. Don't shop at this store unless you want to be treated like a criminal. And just think I was going to buy a log splitter from them. They need to seriously look into that stores management. People will forever think I was stealing or broke the law some how when. Its just like rural king drug my name through the dirt. I did nothing I am an honest man who make an honest living I have no criminal record. I'm a good Christian. Shame on rural king for treating me this way. I am glad my son and daughter was not there to see this. I was escorted all the way to my vertical. People do not deserve to be...
