We have been remodeling our home for months now, and the only reason why it has taken so long is because we have been promised over and over again, when our ordered and paid in advance items are supposed to be in, we have continuously had to argue over and over why our items are not in. Our first problem was in June. We had ordered a bathroom vanity and was promised it would be in the following week. We went in to pick it up and was told it wasn't in, no explanation of why it wasn't in, where it was, or when we can expect it. We were told for 4 weeks every excuse Home Depot could muster up from; 1) it was on the truck but hasn't been unloaded. 2) It's off the truck but you need to give HD 24 hours notice that we are coming in to pick it up. 3) The vanity came in but it wasn't the quality HD wanted to give us, so they ordered another one. 4) we don't have one on order for you, when did you order it? 5)The wrong size came in, we are so sorry, but we will order another one right away for you. Four weeks later, we finally got it in!! The next problem we had was a 24" door we ordered. Again, what was supposed to be 'right in', once again we got the same old excuses as we did with the vanity. After weeks of waiting my husband went in again on the expected date of delivery and the sales girl was giving every excuse why our door wasn't in. Finally, a manager overheard the conversation and told my husband that she will make sure the door gets in and will charge us only $25 for it. We were ticked off again and wanted to tell the manager that we don't care about the price of the door, we just want the dang thing in so we can finish our project!!!! This last part was the one that broke the camels back for us. We ordered our carpet to redo our whole house back in June and was told the carpet installers will be in, August 20th at 8am, to install the carpet. Well, after the issues we have already been having with HD, we started calling the installers 2 weeks ago to make sure that they were definitely coming the 20th. We called everyday and no one ever returned our calls. My husband goes into HD every single day to purchase something for our remodel and has inquired about our carpet and told several employees that we have no heard from the installers. And of course we got more excuses from HD. They said they just sell the carpet, not install, and gave us 3 different numbers to call to check with the installers that they contract through. We never got an answer and hoped for the best. So, all last week we spent ripping out the old carpet, replacing plywood, removing furniture, pulling nails and any other objects on the floors out, so everything was clean and ready to go when the installers came. Even though we paid HD's price to have the installers remove the old carpet, we know that they wouldn't take the time to clean the floors to replace the new ones, so we took it upon ourselves to get everything prepared. Well, we have once again been disappointed. We waited ALL DAY yesterday for the installers to come as promised on 8/20/18. My husband called once again all 3 numbers he was given from HD as well as the installers and as usual HD wiped their hands of the problem and said it was the installers issue not theirs, but they sure were quick to take our money to pay for the carpet 2 months ago. A gal finally called back at 3pm and said that she knew nothing about our carpet being on the schedule for the 20th, but she can get us scheduled for the 27th!!!!!!! We told her that is NOT what HD told us, and she said, 'sorry, but we can't get to you until next week.' Now we wait again, and boy are we ticked. This was the absolute last straw. My husband and I both have agreed that once the carpet is in we will never do business with HD again. We have spent 10's of thousands of dollars on this project and have been VERY DISAPPOINTED! The only 1 positive I can say is the customer service is good, and the employee's are knowledgeable,...
Read moreIf there was a zero rating, that would be what they would receive from me. I very rarely rate businesses online because some days things don't run as smoothly as normal and I get that. This experience was inexcusable. While moving into a new home, my family decided to put tile in some areas. We checked and the Farmington store had 24 cases available for purchase, at least according to their website. I went ahead and purchased all 24 for curbside pickup so that I wouldn't have to worry about them still being there when I went to get them. I paid, in full, for all 24 cases, and recieved my confirmation number at 7:15 pm. The store closes at 8 so we got a call saying that the "pickers" were gone for the day but they would be back at 6:00 a.m. the following morning. They would then notify us when our order was ready to be picked up. At around 11:00 a.m. the following morning we received a phone call from the store saying that they had no cases of the tile in house. When we asked if there was a way to get the tile shipped from another store we were told that the tile was on clearance and that the store in Gallop said that they had 50 cases in stock approximately. We asked if there was any way to get those sent to this store for us to pick up and were told that if we wanted them we would need to make the drive ourselves or pay $79 for the first 20 miles plus a $1.25 per mile after that for them to transport the tile for us. They also had no way to confirm that the store actually had the tile in stock. When we were called by the store, we asked to speak to the store manager to see if there is anything else that could be done to remedy the situation, the store manager Lucas informed us that there was nothing to be done. Upon arrival later in the day to return some of the same tile that was previously purchased from the Home Depot in Durango CO, we found 8 full cases of the tiling question along with a partial case exactly where the website said they would be on the sales floor. My issue was not necessarily that they did not have the tile so much as the fact that the order was accepted and the customer service trying to remedy an issue on their website was not to be found. We ended up solving the problem ourselves with no help from them whatsoever. I sincerely hope that not every Home Depot...
Read moreOn a normal basis, I love Home Depot. This is the absolute first time I have ever had consistent bad encounters from this home depot. The service and capabilities of the staff has been so terrible that I've actually taken steps to close all accounts with Home Depot to include credit lines in order to move on. I would avoid this particular Home Depot if at all possible, and it is given that Lowe's is right down the road. Examples of issues I've had:
"Miscommunications" with multiple departments ranging from not understanding what the question, "is the display flooring shade lighter than what's in the box?" with the response being "they weigh the same". This exact conversation happened three times after I attempted to clarify that I was talking about the color. "Your product will be delivered on x date", call on that day toward the end of the day to be told, "they never actually scheduled your delivery". "It turns out, an entire department lied and we can't install what you need and you will have to special order a material through x department". No big deal, contact that department and they have ZERO idea on how to do it, what the item is, or how to order it. Was forced to contact the specialty company and schedule delivery directly with them (not the previous delivery issue). "The department shouldn't be discussing anything regarding installation or how to install a product". If they can't and are unable to describe how to install or what that would entail, why are they called [x] specialists? "I know you're unhappy but if you don't want the service, we charge a 15% fee even though it was out of your control." I called a department to get help about a product and the employee proceeded to just yell what continuously before hanging up. Their delivery window is "when my driver leaves to when they finish".
This has been an unbelievable chain of events that has transpired is incredible. It is mind blowing that this is the standard Home Depot fosters. They are either setting an incredibly low bar of standards or they were so understaffed that the only job requirement was "over the age of 18 and a warm body." Absolutely incredible. I will never be returning to...
