We went today at 12:30 pm for a celebration lunch! Today is our 47th Wedding Anniversary…. It was odd but we were the ONLY two people in the entire restaurant. I joked I rented it out for our lunch! We have been several times and always there is a crowd. (As we left at 1:30 two women came in) Great service, we ordered martinis, straight up w olives while we made our selections. The martinis are great! I ordered the Mediterranean Flat Bread, my husband ordered the Power Salad with add on Salmon, Add on Chicken $6, Shrimp $8 and salmon mkt $. Since the salmon meal w rice n vegetable was $23 we figured $12 for salmon…. Food is delicious. However, the add ons… insane! After we were done, Our waiter came over and asked if we would like a small bite dessert to celebrate our 47th Anniversary? He offered one of two choices. We are not big on desserts but thought that was a nice touch and asked for the Oreo Dream, one split strawberry with crushed Oreo on top of a “pudding” in a mini cup with two mini spoons. It was delicious… Our bill came, the total was $111 and change…. I was surprised but…. Then I looked at the itemized list.. our martinis had an additional charge of .$1.00 each for olives (these were not imported), the salmon add on to the salad was SIXTEEN DOLLARS! 😵💫. Then the crowning glory was they charged $6 for the dessert! That is not an exorbitant charge BUT…. They did not ask if we “saved room for dessert” indicating we would add it to our bill… he asked if we wld like a dessert (only offering 2) to celebrate our anniversary? In ALL MY LIFE, we have received multiple tokens for a birthday or anniversary meal and NO ONE HAS CHARGED! Bottom line… could we afford the $1 for olives and the $6 for a little dessert, Yes. Was it penny pinching on the part of W2W?YES!!! Print your prices! I have NEVER paid for olives… what’s next? $2 for pineapple, 50 Cents for a cherry? God forbid you order a Bloody Mary? The food was great but the penny pinching ruined the experience…… Your restaurant is...
Read moreFrom the moment we opened the front door you could feel the warmth and familiarity of Water into Wine's ambiance. Michael and Ciarra dazzled our party with welcomed suggestions of food and wine pairings as they doled out specials and describe delicacies that are sure to please any palate.
The wine selection was seemingly an endless cellar of 90 point + wines that would be on many sommelier's must have list. Ask your server for the captain's list and try not to splurge.
After sipping champagne, we then devoured the chef's frittata and crab cakes and a stellar charcuterie board which we paired with a nice bottle of '14 Opus One.
The amazing wine called us to order the bourbon sriracha meatballs among other tasty delights suggested by Kevin and Michael.
For the main entree' I was dazzled with the Winter Salmon that seemed like they pulled it out of the chilly river that afternoon. So delicate and perfectly seasoned.
We lingered on as we witnessed several amazing martinis being handed out at a rapid pace and decided it was our turn. So toss in the W2W Signature Chocolate Board and a few of Kevin's speciality drinks for dessert. It will be a day to remember. All of this five-start treatment in the little town of Farragut.
This was actually our second trip to Water Into Wine and if we lived closer, it would be our go to bistro for amazing wine, food and friends.
Water Into Wine and owner, Candace, are doing it right and it's easily worth another four...
Read moreWhat a great experience we had on Thursday night! It had been a while since our last visit. I can easily say that which was very good is now even better. The place has a positive vibe or energy - it is hard not to feel good in the atmosphere. The food was awesome, as was the service. My wife and I had dinner and wine. She had the pasta special and enjoyed it very much. Great blend of flavors, Excellent portion size - a nice meal. I had the bougie (sp?) burger special. Holy cow (pardon the pun) it was fantastic. I've eaten a lot of good burgers in a lot of interesting places - this was the best ever. Get it with everything it comes with - you won't be disappointed. Our server (Peyton) did a great job taking care of us. He and Candace and the team know their wines and made solid recommendations. Wine prices for 9 ounce pours are very reasonable. The Smith and Hook Cabernet was noteworthy, as was the Caymus Sauvignon Blanc. We were too late for happy hour pricing - that probably won't happen again. :) We left with smiles on our faces, and with our budget still intact. I encourage everyone to try this place - you will like it. Food, service, and atmosphere will all make...
