To say that you're in the "best, most capable hands" with Eric working on your computer is an understatement. This man has more knowledge of & experience with computers in his little finger than most have in their entire bodies! Eric provides extremely professional service with a smile and a great interpersonal style, throws himself into your "computer issues" willingly & he's my bet for SUCCESS every single time. He was especially compassionate & kind in my particular situation; I had two extremely old PCs upon which my father had written three books & numerous documents using the dreaded Microsoft Works from the Pleistocene Era (haha). While dad was alive (he died at age 94 on 2/14/2020), we tried to no avail to get all these documents converted from Works to Word. After dad passed, I was heartbroken when I thought I'd never get to ever see these important documents using my computer's Microsoft Word. Well, Eric conveyed confidence & assurance that he could accomplish this elusive task, & HE DID! I owe Eric my deep gratitude. The owner is extremely focused on building great relationships with his customers. He’s very helpful, very talkative, and very focused in the customers’ best interest without necessarily having to make the best profit. However, the reason for the 3 stars is that he insisted on repairing the physical problem on my laptop with a makeshift “Frankenstein”, as he called it, without looking to fully replace or repair my device with the correct parts. After debating which was the proper part that needed to be replaced (I was right, but I’ll give him the benefit of saying he didn’t have as much time to look at it), I decided to, instead, take my laptop home so that I could still use a functioning laptop for final exams. I let him do this little “fix” that he insisted on (without charging me anything yet, which was very kind) after I told him that I would rather replace the part of my laptop that would be cosmetically altered by myself at a later time and avoid spending a pretty penny. Instead, this makeshift solution did more damage than it helped anything. I didn’t realize until I got home. As a former UofA grad student when working on a dissertation having a computer was... a PRICELESS! invaluable asset. Being able to analyze data, compile articles, write and track dissertation drafts by way of computer, well, meant less time wasted while productive work was enhanced. So, as was inevitable, my desktop computer crashed. Eric patiently and supportively, calmed a grad student in the throes of freaking out, me, while promptly repairing my computer and recovering the data.
