I am pretty technically savvy, but every now and then I encounter something that is beyond my grasp. I use a powerful desktop computer (gaming computer that runs 3 monitors and has 18TB of internal drive space) and twice in the past two years I have had a desperate need for prompt and good service. On both occasions, I was able to get my computer into the Geek Squad hands promptly and the unit was serviced and back in my hands from them very quickly and within 48 hours.
In each situation, I had a deep concern that some substantial alternations may be necessary to restore proper computer operation and perhaps the OS may need to be reinstalled and that I may suffer a loss of many of my files. Read moreThis is some of the most unacceptable "service" I have ever received for tech repairs. I have a samsung laptop with a broken screen. Spent a week trying to find best price to fix. Geek squad quoted me $300-450 for the repair. So I went with it after paying an $85 fee which they called a "deposit". Well after waiting almost 2 weeks for a response they get back to me with a $1100 repair bill, which was insane and higher than other places I went to beforehand. So they suckered me into paying 85$ to hit me with a bill almost 3x their quoted price. What a scam! And this was not even refundable because it covers "shipping and inspection" which is nonsense. It did not say anywhere on the fine print that this was no refundable and was a seperate charge. Complete waste of time and money. Dont fall for their bogus low repair...
Read moreCalled in to inquire about cleaning up a computer. They answered all my questions and told me turn around time would be 2-3 days after I drop it off. Everything sounded good so I headed over to drop it off. The customer service lady was very nice but said I could not drop it off without filling out the paperwork, and that I had to wait an hour and a half to fill out the paperwork.
